"Controversy" is cute. Maybe Lindgren will play himself into a back-up gig here or elsewhere and the Blues are comfortable trading one of their guys for some unexpected value. I'm curious to see if the Blues will carry 3-goalies when everyone is healthy, if such a thing isn't a preposterous notion. Can't see Lindgren clearing waivers to go back to Springfield...

Maybe it depends on what the players think. Bortuzzo sure seems to speak highly of Lindgrenns personality meshing so well with them. Wonder what they think of Husso in comparison?

isn't he up as an EBUG? if so, think he gets 10 games before needing to clear waivers? maybe??

chief made a big mistake today and the team paid the price.

this is chucky sideburn's net until further notice and now the bad thing is our #1 goalie will have to sit for atleast 10 days before seeing the net again.

shame on berube.

Binny didn't play bad, the D just didn't play for him. He played well enough for us to win.

Saying that, we should have kept running Lindy. This team is very feely so don't rock the boat if they're rolling along and winning or picking up points. Treat it like a British car, if it's running , leave it alone.

yes that the same thing they said in 2015 before i stated allen is better than elliott and jake took em to a division crown with his play

Jake Allen for playoff goalie campaign (Mod warning Post #259, Copied to OP)

And then Allen sat in the back seat after the Blues was the worst team in December and some rookie took them to a Cup and broke the curse.

Moose isn't some amazing goaltender but if we played when he hit his hot streak, we're taking the Cup no matter what. Allen has never had that kind of upside.

Honestly binner hasnt looked great for awhile to me. And even worse how the team really seems to slack off and not compete hard enough. For example, Colt55 was really solid since being paired with Mikkola and today 55 fumbled the puck behind the goal which lead to the Jets scoring.

i think the only controversy is who has the best hair style going on. it's been nice to see almost every goalie doing well for the team.

I think Binner has lost the room. They aren't playing hard for him.

I honestly think that the Blues are mostly very easy to play behind ever since Hitchcock took over. Yeo tried a new system which made it a bit more difficult and I believe there was an equipment change as well and that's why Allen started to struggle. Binnington took advantage of that and secured his starter gig by adding a strong playoff run. Ever since that, he was never all that impressive and was outplayed by Allen and now Husso and Lindgren. It was only last season when he was able to outperform Husso in his first NHL season. Overall, I'm not impressed with Binnington and I think his solid numbers are mostly due to playing behind a team defending the slot rather well. Binnington's playoff numbers aren't great either since that one good playoff run. I'm rather high on Husso so I think the writing is on the wall and Binnington on the way out. The Blues don't really need him and he should be tradeable because his numbers make him look better than he actually is.

Here’s how I rate Binners season so far

1/3 of the season - very good
1/3 of the season - average
1/3 of the season - slightly below average

overall - B

Binnington had the benefit of coming into the league at the right time when no team had ever faced him. His "all star" numbers have dropped every year since the cup, as all goalies' numbers do over time, because teams have had a chance to play him, learn his weaknesses, and gather film on where best to attack him. Binny isn't some top tier goalie in the league like several on here claim that he is. I'm not saying he's bad, but he's no better than the likes of Allen or Moose. I can't get a feel for this board on why they attack some goalies and not others for bad stretches of play.

Claiming that Binnington is no better than Allen or Moose proves without a doubt that you're opinion on goaltenders is very poor.
