Yesterday was the best game Demko has played since his first injury. It's a statement he still has it. You gotta ride with him at least for another game or two, depending how it goes.
I think it's very unlikely that there's anything to be gained by "riding" him. Slowly build from about 35% of the starts to perhaps 55% by the last ten games, if all goes well.

Yah, I'm a Garland fan but he really flubs a ton of chances. He's a motor but just doesn't have the finish.

Also, Debrusk-EP-Sherwood had a really good stretch there, and then Tocc just breaks that line up. Should really try it again. (Hogz-EP-Karlsson also had 2 very good games and Tocc just broke that up too. I don't really understand Tocc's thinking sometimes.)

I disagree. Horses want to run. He's not, to the best of our knowledge, dealing with an acute injury. He's trying to make his body work around the remnants of and old one, and a lot of that is mental.

When he gets positive feedback from his contributions (in the form of objective success) it's important to let him follow that positive feedback train.

It's not about over playing him, but playing him as a backup right now would be asinine and I can guarantee you they won't do it unless he has two or three stinkers in a row.

I hope Hughes injury isn't like past canucks injuries where it starts out missing a game, then day to day, month to month, his entire head is disconnected from his body and all his blood needs to be removed and replaced.

I don't want to think that, but I just can't help myself.

My annual live game. Last year I missed the 10-1 game but was there for the 3-4 OTL. They better win this year!

Also helps that Costco sell Sharks ticket now. Goal line row 9 lower bowl for $55. Can't beat that value :D:D
I haven't been to a Canucks game since my Thank You Frankie Blueberries For Finally Doing The Obvious f***ing Thing game against L.A. December 6th, 2021.

The way the world has gone absolutely bonkers since then where everything is rapidly accelerating into unaffordable territory makes me really wonder when will be my next.

I hope they show up for ya.

Well, we just disagree about what's "asinine."

I also don't get sending Karlsson down for Aman. Yes, Aman has been ripping it up in Abbotsford and likely deserved a recall at some point - but Karlsson is in the middle of his best stretch of NHL hockey and is playing really effectively. Head scratcher.
Agreed. I like the lineup but don't understand why Karlsson was sent down - he's played really well. Maybe Tocchet wants more grit?

Vibes in the Room

  • Doesn’t want to overstate everything but will say the last 3-4 days there’s nice energy in the room
  • They want to be coached.
this should have been fixed in the beginning of the year. but now with 29 something odd games left in the season, this team looks like its found its gear and enjoying hockey again. is it a little too late? i still believe they miss the playoffs anyways.

cant wait to see what the media detectives dig up regarding miller/lockerroom soon. has to be more to the story.

If no Hughes, go wit this:

Debrusk Chytil Brock Boeser
Hoglander EPetterson1 Sherwood
O Connor Suter Garland
Joshua Blueger Karlsson/Aman

MPettersson Myers
Forbort Hronek
EPettersson2 Soucy

Lankinen
Playing EP with wingers he's actually looked good with? what is this craziness? Lol.

All they need to have is Garland switch places with Sherwood. EZ
Why is it we all see this but Tochett refuses? Tochetts line choices drive me crazy.
Hogz has been doing everything Tochett asks, you notice him every shift in a good way, he at least should be higher than Joshua who some say played his best game of the year which translates as he touched the puck a few times and only 85% of the play died on his stick.

I mean it should be obvious to any coach that Hogz is feeling it right now and with a scoring line he probably would be doing just that.

Very refreshing to just basically have a no-brainer, stable defensive alignment where you’re not juggling land mines in the bottom four. Hopefully Myers can continue to play well with Hughes when he’s healthy (holding until Willander is ready), and M.Pettersson-Hronek can become a high-calibre second pair.

I expect Soucy to continue to improve since he’s now where he should be on the depth chart.

Sounds like it's a case of rewarding interchangeable parts for strong play on the farm. At this time of year it can also be some showcasing going on. I don't believe Alvin is going to move the top prospects (Lekk, Willander, EP2) but I would not be shocked to see Aman or Karlsson moved as part of a deal.

The comments on the locker room before&after the trade is telling. They moved the right guy. Likely should have been sooner but I also understand wanting to try everything before moving a guy who had 100 points last season.

The players need to keep the energy and strong play going. I'm happy to see Tocchet saying the vibes/energy has been consistently high since the deals. We'd heard so many times after games this year that they knew the game was going to be rough because practice just wasn't what it should be. Very much characteristic of a group that was dreading going to work and dealing with certain people.

Need EP1 to get going. His defensive play has been strong but he needs to start getting some points.

Like in that weird covid year when Petey was day to day and it was radio silence for months lmfao
