Stoney still stapled to ep and top six mins

I really don't get it. Apart from against Carolina, he looks like he needs a long break. They acquired Lindholm, seemingly, to play with Pettersson. Everytime they've tried Hoglander with Pettersson it's ended very quickly. Suter is still generating chances with Miller and Boeser. Just odd.

Not really opposed to trying out different looks but this seems antithetical to past experience.

Pettersson seems to be in the middle of everything this season, lol. Seems to be going exactly how he didn’t want it to. No wingers can play with him seemingly…

Doesn’t help that Mikheyev is looking like a league minimum grinder but Petey’s up and downs away from the Lotto line are bipolar

Seems like he's put a good cohesive team together, which should be commended..Does he have the young elite pieces to be a future contender..?.Not convinced about that.
The upcoming D looks solid for them. Forwards, I don’t see any of Kasper, Danielson being better offensively than the guys they have now in Larkin, Raymond, DCat. Not sure that trio being your top 3 best scorers is going to be enough moving forward to contend.

No arguments from me there. We’ll see if they can keep it up. I I could see them being this generation’s Minnesota or Nashville that makes the playoffs even though they don’t have an elite core

I've wanted to see Mikheyev with 6-9 for a while. Tocchet shuffles the cards, but never deals that hand.

Mikheyev with EP reminds me of Sutter with the Sedins. On paper they've got some characteristics that should complement high skill, creative players. But like Sutter, Mikheyev's lack of vision and patience with the puck makes him a poor fit with a cerebral player like EP.

JTM and BB are both high IQ players, but they play a simpler game. Mikh's speed would benefit that lines simple, north-south game imo.

Suter-EP-Lindgren
Mikheyev-Miller-Boeser

I don't get it either or why they dont give elias² + hog = success a try for atleast a handful of games

Wouldn't worry too much about the makeup of the lines to start the game......if things don't go well, Tocchet will put the lines into a blender anyway.

Collectively they'll have to be a lot sharper in terms of exits from their own zone. Wings will get on them quick, so they have to avoid being hemmed in in the first 10-minutes or so.

EP plays weird, doesn't consistently bode well for his linemates. Really only JT and Kuz have shown an actual 'chemistry' with EP.

Even Hughes and Boeser have never looked particularly jelled with him, there's no signature plays between them like there is with the rest of the core.

Its not like he has played with different linemates more than a sprinkle. Mikheyev + a guy for most of the year.
