I don't think Ovechkin was that bad tonight. Had some nice looks off the draw and also had a nice rush in the third that he passed to Wilson. Wilson flubbed it or it bounced over his stick.

Can't win 'em all, but definitely a winnable game. Carbs having strome and ovi out there at the end was the wrong choice. Otherwise, thought we could of had another 3 or 4 goals early in the game. Looks to me like a team who can win 70-75% of their games.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it. I think you're wrong. To my eye, Ovie had a really solid game tonight. Had some nice chances off the draw and set Wilson up with a glorious opportunity. He was even working pretty hard along the boards, which is not a strength for him.

Expecting Ovie to win loose puck races and board battles isn't playing to his strengths. His linemates need to be the puck retrievers. What he needs to do is make himself open for his still very dangerous shot. He can use that to draw defenders to him or fake the shot and use his underated playmaking ability to get the puck to an open man. His big body also makes him very difficult to move in front of the net. That's how he needs to play to be effective and I thought he did that tonight, he just didn't get rewarded for it.

I thought the team played pretty well, the shots just weren't going in and the VAN goalie was playing really well. In the 3rd period they started getting more traffic to the net and looking for the dirty goals. If they had started doing that sooner, and played a grittier offensive game instead of relying on skill, I think we would have won.

Yeah I feel like our postPG is like at 2.5-3.0 the last couple weeks. Lots of crazy chances just not going. Not flipping out over this one, next game up.

He started the season exactly the same way. Looking like ass. Then he picked it up and was looking great. He has gone back to looking like ass since he came back from the injury.
