Chickens beginning to come home to roost for Allvin

Not signing a player that gives great overall ice coverage and control in his own zone. Who could give you 20- 25 minutes of solid play a game . Who provided the type of toughness that kept other team honest. Who had the capacity to raise his game and be dominate. And you fail to re-sign Zadorov for something like $200,000, a sum that would be quickly be absorbed given the cap increases ahead. You were brain dead at the time, as most said, and now your decision looks even more awful.

Sign utter crap like Forbert and Desharnais. I mean Forbert was damaged goods when we got him and only looks barely decent when you compare to the frightfully bad Desharnais.

Sign Hoglander for 3 mill starting next year and going for next three more years. Talk about a cap anchor. Question now is "will he ever score again???"

Sign "pouty Pete" for 4 years at 11.6 Has a easy chance of being one of the worst contracts in the League given zero offense game Pettersson is playing.

Give away Polkolzin who now looks pretty decent with Edmonton. Might look good on our 4th line right now.

Give away draft choices like cheap candy.

On tonights game it's hard to see your team get run out of their own rink. There were factors like the flu and injuries but the team looked abysmal.

Saw tonight that Friedman can't play at this level. Not at all. Those thinking somehow he can need to watch carefully his play in the neutral and at his blue line. Better still watch him around his crease as he driven, with ease, out of the play or over top of his goalie.

Brannstrom also needs to be nurse-maided through games. With a strong partner, he is mostly ok but he, too, is weak around his net. The pairing of Brannstrom and Friedman was likely one of the weakest in Canuck history.

Pettersson was, of course, AWOL. Since Miller came back, Pettersson play has dropped off badly, again. Forwards for the most part looked unable to penetrate the Bruins defense or get much sustained pressure in the Boston end. Neither Boeser or Pettersson IMO look anything like elite.

Demko was not good and doesn't look right. (Game illustrated even further what a saviour Lankanin has been)

Hughes per usual gave a good effort but obviuosly trying to take too much of a load in the absense of anyone else doing so.

Hard to see much positive about after this one. Maybe the fact Sasson scored but overall pretty depressing. Looks like the Florida game (especially given the fact that the Flames beat the Panthers tonight) was flash in the pan.

Man I wish there was a way they could have pried Tkachuk out of Ottawa for Petey. Too late now and we are stuck with him. He'll probably light it up at the four nations though. Small victories for Nucks fans.

Rutherford confirms management was aware Lankinen overplayed his hand with his ask and situation, and they poker’d/outwaited him. Also says it’s possible to keep both Demko AND Lankinen.

Also paraphrasing but he was quite non committal on a Boeser extension (as expected).

Loving this After Hours so far. Edit: nevermind it was short and didn’t get juicier. Didn’t love it as much as I wanted. Softballs.

Previous management gave away 2nds for Busting prospects, this management gives them away with their bad contracts.

If he had managed to pull off the rumored deal of Necas, Kotkaniemi, a 1st rounder and another top prospect (Morrow?) for Pettersson, he would look like a top 5 GM in the league right now.

And they easily could've signed Zadorov at 5M instead of Myers at 3M. Zadorov isn't having a great season but for 2M more, he would be a massive upgrade over Myers.

Might be the worst after hours interview with a management person I've ever seen. Lobbed softballs at him
I'm pretty sure they have the questions prepared before the game even starts. These things are always pretty light-hearted.

But Rutherford and/or Allvin should definitely be holding some sort of serious media availability before Christmas.

A couple of forwards like Heinen/Hoglander/Boeser are way too inconsistent, and the entire D core is trash outside of Hughes, but it’s not really hard to deduce that Pettersson is at the forefront of Tocchet’s comments on emotional investment and consistency.
