On the positive side, those forward lines are pretty ideal, and exactly what I was hoping for (swapping Mikheyev/Beauvillier might be slightly better, since Beauvillier has more forechecking tenacity in his game when he's trying, and Pettersson/Kuzmenko need that more than Miller/Boeser, but it's a wash).

Joshua and Garland are the two weirdest forwards on the team and strangely fit together, Blueger is the exact north-south guy to complement them.

Hoglander and Lafferty are already great together while Aman seems like the perfect guy to round out their tenacity.

The Mikheyev/Pettersson/ Kuzmenko line are reunited...I have to be honest, the last couple weeks, that line got really stagnant..Some nights all three were rife with bad reads and giveaways.

It's a win for us but it's not like it's a loss for a team like Chicago either. Not many teams if any would care less about cap than them at this juncture. He's s overpaid but he's also not a bad player and they need some effective replacements for the players they've lost for one reason (Hall) or another (Perry).

Hope he finds a niche there.

i know which 2 i want

I feel like they need to aim bigger. But maybe it's smart not to go too big this year and spend what few futures assets we have.

Looks like we’re probably keeping Garland. I’m ok with that as he’s a luxury piece to have on the third line but makes us deeper with his 5v5 scoring
