I dream of an NHL game with no overall stat. Just individual stats and performance stats to make decisions on.

This would be perfect.

Anaheim is such a great team to do as well. If you do start one, don't forget to create Zegras.
Zegras & Drysdale is a great 1C & 1D to start the rebuild. Comtois,Lunderstrom,Jones and Steel will be important depth. I might make one with the Ducks later in the year, after Arizona.

So, there appears to be 2 very game-altering glitches or bugs in NHL21 GM/Franchise mode. The first and most obvious one is that Defenceman have Forward chemistry stats. Just very weird, and quite plain stupid, lol. (Seen here Dalla Stars Defenceman Miro Heiskanen with Forward chemistry stats).

The 2nd is more in-depth, and maybe it is EA just added in hidden statistics to Defenceman. But there is a different overall for a player when editing in his attributes and that of his overall that appears on-screen outside the edit attributes screen. (Seen here Cale Makar a 91 in his edit attributes sections, and 89 in the on-screen overall. As well as Josh Manson who is an 84 when you go into edit his overall, and 88 outside the edit attributes screen).

Now I edited both overalls to how I saw fit. But Maker the OFD, Offensive Defenceman, and Josh Manson the DFD, Defensive Defenceman. Looking into it more, and going off of what others are saying. It seems like OFD's can go down -3 in hidden stats and conversely, DFD can go +3 in hidden stats, depending on you messing around with attributes and how you're editing them.

Just very weird, and I still haven't exactly figured out what's going on. Is it just a glitch/bug, that EA will and can fix?! Or is it a hidden stat-attribute that affects not only real-time GM Franchise simulation or in-game simulation. Still don't know. We will see. If anyone has any thoughts, opinions, suggestions, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks.

The player editing is all f***ed up.

I don't see why the player editor area, and the menu area would show different overalls for any particular reason tbh.

I am assuming the overall in the actual creation suite is the right one, if not, I'll have a lot of work to do

I have Vancouver, Vegas, Washington, Winnipeg left in my player editing. Already done the AHL. Then I need to go through the junior leagues and euro leagues (that tends to be quicker, as I only really pay attention to prospects, or guys I think could be FA's that jump over IRL).

Then, starts the process of creation. I've done four so far as I posted in the dedicated thread, but I'd say there is at least 40 guys to create.

Though, the fact that Corey Perry and Travis Hamonic are MIA from the EA roster update discourages me, because while I can move over the created prospects on the next roster update, I'd have to redo all of the roster editing.

This company really f***ing the Franchise diehards here. All these issues are things that have no reason to have happened, and simple play testing beforehand, would have caught these issues.

Another bug. Draft prospects or drafted prospects playing in junior leagues don’t record points.

Only shows AHL/NHL stats.

Ugh

Another bug!!!

Went into franchise mode game. Stamina locked on full bars and couldn’t change lines, and neither would CPU. Starting 5 for both teams just on the ice the entire time until I quit the game.

This game is so f***ing broken

You can view a Dman's line fit at basically any screen other than the Edit Line screen - I use the Contract Page.

It's pathetic, but it's the only workaround at the moment.

So i got this guy and I doubt I'll ever get another one like him. And no, I did not create him.

Last 3 seasons:
34g 81a =115 p
27g 79a = 106 p
27g 95a = 122 p

E: I think he has 5 Norris's now, 1 Art Ross, 1 Lindsay, 1 Hart, 1 Conn Smythe and 2x Lady Byng. Scored 100+ points 5 seasons in a row, latest was only 97, the scrub.

@Kaako Kappo - was he touted as a Franchise player?

The highest I ever saw was in Tougie24's video where he drafted a 20-YO 92 overall Franchise D-Man:

First - how?

Does the AI actually 'scout' players or does EA just program RNG and pick whoever?

Anyone did an expansion team ? What did the protection list looked like ? because last year it wasn't good at all, if so my X-break project will be an expansion team with Wright/Savoie as my principal target. Any tips/ideas to make it the bast save possible ?

Any suggestions for an expansion team ?
Ideas, Quebec, Portland, Kansas City or Salt lake City.

Best player I ever drafted was Vaclav Kaspar, a Defensive Defenceman. It was back in NHL 14, I think. When they still used the star rating system for potential. Drafted 12th overall, 3.5 green stars. Developed slowly over the first couple of years and then once he made my top 4, he just took off. Reached 94 overall and had like 5 straight 30 g/100 pt/100 PIM seasons. He was also a giant, like 6'4", 235 or something.

Chemistry is way too OP in this game.
Started a franchise mode with an expansion team.
First season, this is my 1st line:

Namestnikov 80 ovr | Bjugstad 81 ovr | Toffoli 84 ovr

Line chemistry: +5

Namestnikov: 74 pt season, UFA asks for $6.4M
Bjugstad: 74 pt season, UFA asks for $7.1M
Toffoli: 82 pt season

This is such nonsense.

Also, what's with players saying they want an extension, and saying "I can't accept this dollar value" when you offer them exactly what they asked for?

When you started your expansion team it was with last year Roster and the first draft was the Laffy one, right ?

It was with the most recently updated rosters, but yeah. First draft was the Laffer draft.

The rosters were still f’d up though. Taylor Hall still with Arizona, exposed in the expansion draft and other stupid stuff.

Season One
The Minnesota Wild announced today that regulahbread has been hired as the franchise's next general manager. "I'm cleaning house. We're getting younger, we're moving some our bigger contracts. Nobody is untouchable for the right price," the new GM stated in a press conference. It will be interesting to see what the team does moving forward, but it appears the tenures of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter in the state of hockey have come to a close.

Preseason Trades
Minnesota trades LW Zach Parise to Los Angeles in exchange for RW Martin Frk
"We want to thank Zach for his time in Minnesota, and wish him the best of luck in Los Angeles. We think Martin Frk will be able to provide goal scoring, and we'll look to give him some important minutes as we begin this transition." - regulahbread.

Minnesota trades RW Mats Zuccarello to New Jersey in exchange for LW Jesper Bratt.
"Jesper has shown excellent skill in his first few years in the league, and we're looking forward to seeing what he can do for us here." - regulahbread

Minnesota trades D Ryan Suter to Columbus in exchange for C Alexandre Texier
"Ryan was an excellent player here, and we hope he should make a terrific group of defensemen even better. We love Alexandre's game, and he's going to be a big part of our future here in St. Paul." - regulahbread
