GM Game Signup and Discussion Thread

How does that make any sense? Blues aren't rebuilding in real life. They also still employ that same GM who signed those awful contracts. He's never going to waive them because of how bad it would look.

I wish there were dinosaur GM's living in the past in these games too. I think i would have gotten a 1 trade offer for either of those players then.

I'm not against what you did since it not break any rules. I want that clear.

The GM might've signed those deals, but there is no owner in the universe of pro sports that would let a purge like that happen because of the optics.

No FA would ever sign there again. Draftees would refuse to sign with them. The franchise would have zero trust within the players.

Because the same owner would still be there, that allowed that GM to do that.

But, we do not have that worry in this game.

Habs looking to move Hoffman ASAP. Only one year left. Will add on a future or Denis Gurianov's rights.

Obviously these kind of things aren't really thought of in these games. There are multiple things in these games that would never happen in real life and deals owners would never approve on and teams who have internal budgets and such things.

But either way, i think this topic has been discussed enough.

:nucks

Still would like to add a young, NHL center. Have picks #11, 16 and CAR '24 1st available as well young players Podkolzin. Hoglander and all prospects. Would also be interested in a young defenseman.

Mark Scheifele could be moved but will most likely carry him into the season. Blake Wheeler at 50% anyone? Nate Scmidt, Neil Pionk and Logan Stanley could also be moved, possibly with some retention.

If anyone thinks that a GM is going to survive the act of putting 10's of millions of dollars into the minor leagues, and losing all that they've invested in those assets for nothing, they're kidding themselve.

Yes, this is totally unrealistic, and turns the game into a verion NHL 2K23... and even then I doubt it flies. Wouldn't even surprise me if you had grievances from the players through the union in a case like this as you could make a case it's negotiation in bad faith since it would be easy peezy to prove that it's intentionally circumventing the NTC.

Speaking of NHL 23

Speaking of NHL 23
I always know at some point of a game, you're going to take issue with something I've done, so it's very on brand of you.

Matthews is exactly where Gaudreau was, and basically where Tkachuk was. Of coure you trade them for the biggest return you can get. This was a great offer. If you don't like it, that's fine, but truly and honestly, just take a lap.

By your measure, the Tkachuk trade last year was an NHL 23 trade. Oh my how things have shifted.

Re-sign Lars Eller 1 year @ 1.8m

Also sign Sean Behrens to a max ELC deal

With our remaining 2m in cap space we are looking for the final piece of the puzzle, a bottom pairing RD to help insulate young Behrens in his rookie season.

Tough to lose Rorher who I like but have enough youth to use him to get rid of Hoffman.

GM AslanRH was looking for an opportunity for Carrier to get more ice time. He spoke very highly of Carrier's defensive play, but the move was driven by a desire to get Livingston more time in the NHL.

Sign following RFA's:

Timo Meier - 8 years - 8.700m AAV
Jesper Bratt - 8 years - 7.900m AAV

Avs have re-signed Erik Johnson to a 1 year @ 1m contract. We are pleased to bring our longest tenured player back for one more year to try to win one more Cup before he retires.

And with that, the Avs are officially done. Roster to come shortly
