It's pretty entertaining when teams add great players and still point out that their team sucks.

Claiming that your team sucks and being realistic by saying that two great players will not change everything in 20 games are two different things.

You know like me that in these games, people often vote for the moves and don't take the current season into consideration.

But you won't whine about it, your team is going to be high in the standings because of that! :sarcasm:

Chemistry is soooooooooooo underrated.

Now, I'm going back to business...

Did absolutely nothing at the deadline. Unlike other playoff teams all around the league, we refused to blow up our team and destroy its chemistry.

Other than a depth defenseman, we didn't feel we needed to make any major changes and our only concern was whether Willie Mitchell would be back in time for the playoffs. We were pleased to learn he will be so we like all of our lines.

We head into the playoffs lining up like this:

Ryan Smyth -- Anze Kopitar -- Dustin Brown
Marco Sturm -- Jarret Stoll -- Justin Williams
Kyle Clifford -- Michal Handzus -- Wayne Simmonds
Alexei Ponikarovsky -- Brad Richardson -- Kevin Westgarth
Scott Parse

Doughty-Johnson
Mitchell-Scuderi
Drewiske-Greene
Harrold

Quick
Bernier

We have scoring; aggressive forwards who excel on the forecheck; and a solid shutdown line.

On defense we have a great balance of speed, scoring, and physical players who can play a shutdown game.

Complement that with our two-headed monster in goal (Quick and Bernier), and you have your Pacific Division champions.

Vote for the Kings, because you know it's the right thing to do. Plus I have great long-term memory. :madfire:

Key Additions: Eric Staal, Joni Pitkanen.

The New York Rangers made one move at the deadline and that was acquiring a top 1- Center in the NHL along with a solid offensive defensemen. We feel that we are easily a top 6 team in the East with the addition of these two players and we plan to make a long run deep into the playoffs. So Vote NYR all the wayy!!!

While San Jose could certainly use a bit of help on the defensive end, I think we have the undisputed best offensive group in the league. We have one of the top three lines in the conference in Heatley-Thornton-Marleau and our second and third lines make pretty much every team in the league envious. We believe the pick up of David Booth for essentially prospects makes our team faster, grittier, and even more talented, an impressive feat. Finally, our fourth line is simply grit, defensive play, and speed.

Defensive help will come internally, through the improvements of Vlasic and Murray in the #2 and #4 spots, respectively. Both players have shown growth in their games in recent years, and have continued to do so today. Perhaps more importantly is the development of Jason Demers into a legitimate top 4 d-man, and Justin Braun as an immediate upgrade on the traded Kent Huskins. Braun brings an impressive offensive skill set including puck movement and a huge point shot. He makes rookie mistakes, but his offensive game overshadows them. Luckily, Niklas Wallin plays his best hockey with Braun making this a pretty solid third pairing.

Washington is close but I would give the edge to San Jose when it comes to offense.

However, I don't see them going really far in the playoffs because of their defense and goaltending.

His choice of a word was bad.

I don't know. A lot of people don't read the rules and there wasn't a post to remember them that the deadline to vote was 1PM ET today.

Maybe you should wait for IR4 to decide. Even if we get the results for the standings, we will need someone to collect the votes for the playoffs.

BTW IR4, if you don't want to do it, I could possibly do it (playoffs).

Didn't see you acquired Hemsky, you've got a pretty solid argument in that case. I meant to put conference anyway. Ovy, Backstrom, and Semin are quite a bit better than Heater, Thornton, Marleau, but I'd take Booth, Pavs, Seto, Clowe, Couture, and Ferrerio over your 2nd and 3rd lines by a lot. 4th lines are a wash. Very close, but I wouldn't blame anyone for giving the team with Ovy the edge.

Haha I was just playin'. You'll have a good run for sure, as long as your goaltending doesn't hurt you that bad.
