I'm shocked that Edmonton wasn't on Simmonds no-trade list. If I had been PMd and asked to approve it I'd have said no.
Time for the popcorn!

Oh snap.
Veto hammer coming out.
Time for the popcorn!
He is in his 6th year (i.e. still an RFA).
And for the record, this is totally something Philly would do.
Unless you mean Hollywood did not send it in to you, in which case, let me know which pieces would be deemed major pieces that would need to be altered.
FLOWN THE COOP; ANAHEIM ACQUIRES GIRARDI
Team A | Acquired | Team B | Acquired
| Dan Girardi ($1,662,500 retained) | | Kyle Palmieri, ANA 2nd '14, Conditional 2nd '16 (Girardi re-signed before Free Agency)
Dan Girardi was acquired from the New York Rangers in a move that saw Kyle Palmieri and picks sent the other way.
"Girardi represents a significant boost to our blueline. He's a consummate leader and thrives on a steady diet of top opposition players. He brings balance to the right side of our blueline and allows coach Boudreau a multitude of options in how we employ our defense."
Boudreau is well versed on the rugged shutdown defensemen, having gone to war against Girardi and the Rangers in his days behind the Capitals bench. "He'll be paired up with Cam Fowler in the early going, but come the postseason we may see a shutdown pairing of Beauchemin and Girardi formed."
The acquisition of Girardi brings back fond memories for Corey Perry. The two won a Memorial Cup together as members of the London Knights in 2005. Girardi was acquired from the Guelph Storm during season as the Knights dominated, going a flawless 4-0 through the tournament.
Can we get an idea of what the cap will look like for the upcoming season?
I understand the difficulty in that task, so I did some outsourcing.

I think mouser's post in general should be helpful. Just choose you're growth %age.
Yeah, discussing with RR and TP now. It'll go up, at least.
When is a good trade deadline for everyone? Thursday evening?
