The :blues waive Adam Cracknell, with the intention of him playing in the AHL.

:blues
Alexander Steen - David Backes - TJ Oshie
Jaden Schwartz - Derek Roy - Vladimir Tarasenko
Magnus Pääjärvi - Tyler Bozak - Vladimir Sobotka
Brendan Morrow - Maxim Lapierre - Ryan Reaves

Jay Bouwmeester - Alex Peitrangelo
Brooks Orpik - Kevin Shattenkirk
Barrett Jackman - Jordan Leopold
Ian Cole

Jaroslav Halak
Brian Elliott

What we feel we did with this team is made it much harder to play against, tougher in some aspects. Gaining our prospect pool with a 1st round draft pick as well as still maintaining a contending team. Re-signing some big key name players (will announce later), we will this franchise will be stanley cup contender this year and the Blues franchise is heading onto the right path.

Playoff Lineup

Pascal Dupuis-Sidney Crosby-Chris Stewart
Chris Kunitz-Evgeni Malkin-James Neal
Jussi Jokinen-Brandon Sutter-Beau Bennett
Kyle Clifford-Joe Vitale-Craig Adams/Tanner Glass

Rob Scuderi-Kris Letang
Olli Maatta-Paul Martin
Simon Despres-Robert Bortuzzo
Deryk Engelland

Marc-Andre Fleury
Tim Thomas

We got younger and faster on the blueline, and our new defensive philosophy with Jacques Martin should help us prevent goals in the playoffs. If Fleury shows signs of struggle, we have Tim Thomas who has proven to be a clutch goaltender in the playoffs. Kunitz-Malkin-Neal has been a proven line that is as good as it comes in this league, and Stewart will create space for Crosby to continue to be the best player in the world. We finally have a good third line that is capable of playing good defense as well as providing good secondary scoring.

All in all, the problems that have plagued this team in the previous playoffs have been addressed, and we look forward to contending for another cup.

Still shopping Stajan, Butler, Russell, O'Brien, Ramo, Berra and MacDonald. Varying prices on all these guys, but the UFA's will be cheaper than the signed/RFA guys.

The Rangers are very excited to announce a trade with the St Louis Blues. We have acquired rugged defenseman Roman Polak from the Blues in exchange for LW prospect Marek Hrivik and SJ's 2nd '14.

Roman Polak

:blues
Marek Hrivik + 2nd '14

We had a HUGE need for another RD and we feel Roman is a solid top-4 defensive RD that we can slot in moving forward. We like the way he plays the game and look forward to him partnering up with either John Moore or Michael Del Zotto moving forward.

LTIR? Seems odd to assume he'll still be injured when you had him in your lineup up until this point.

From the injury it sounded pretty serious, to be honest it was a cap problem. But now i'll I take him off of it.

Kevin Klein is still available but it's looking like he will be retained at this point. Unless you're offering a youngish(under 27) top 6 winger please do not inquire. No, your 34 year old third line winger+a 3rd round pick will not suffice.

Matt Cullen is also available for a team looking for a veteran third line center.

"It was no secret that we were going for a full rebuild. We had identified Huberdeau, Barkov, Kulikov, Gudbranson and Markstrom as the core players to build the team around. We are glad to have two new members to this core in Cowen and Tanev, along with several prospects who should be part of this core in a couple years.

We expect Jensen, Khokhlachev and Stone to battle for a roster spot as soon as next season, while Zykov should follow shortly. Bergenheim, Booth, Upshall, Kopecky, Stoll and Paille will all be at the final year of their contract in 2014-2015 and it should be a year of transition. In 2015-2016, we will be looking to surround our young core properly and we believe that we will have a competitive team for many years to come. We ask our fans to be patient and they can be sure that they won’t have to wait many years to see positive results."

And: Tim Thomas for a 2015 2nd and Dustin Jeffrey.

Tim Thomas is a proven Cup winner and will be great insurance if Fleury begins to falter in the playoffs again.

:panthers THOMAS TRADED TO PITTSBURGH

The Florida Panthers have traded goaltender Tim Thomas to the Pittsburgh Penguins for forward Dustin Jeffrey and PIT 2015 2nd round pick.

"We wanted to see Markstrom as our number one goalie and we are happy to give Thomas the chance to go to a contender."

We didn't blow it up as much as we originally planned. We have a decent forward corps on paper but like we've seen in real life they're not clicking. My defense is now completely awful with Coburn and Timonen departing. We look forward to our future with the additions of Klefbom, Yakupov, and hope to have two top five picks (Edmonton and Ourselves) in the upcoming draft, which is held in Philadelphia.

Remember... :flyers and :edmonton suck.

Dustin Penner – Ryan Getzlaf – Corey Perry
Jakub Silfverberg – Tomas Plekanec – Teemu Selanne
Steve Ott – Saku Koivu – Andrew Cogliano
Devante Smith-Pelly – Nick Bonino – Emerson Etem
Mathieu Perreault

Hampus Lindholm – Francois Beauchemin
Cam Fowler – Dan Girardi
Sheldon Souray – Tom Gilbert
Reverend Lovejoy

Ryan Miller
Jonas Hiller

The reunited PPG line was a pivotal line when we won our last Stanley Cup and that won't be any different this season.
Selanne has found success despite having an offensively capable center since Andy McDonald. To rectify this we picked up Tomas Pleckanec to open up for the Selanne farewell tour. With their groupie Silfverberg, they're expected to make sweet music together.
It has been 5 years since Steve Ott has gone to the post season. In that time, we've seen skilled pests the likes of Marchand, Gallagher, Shaw and Burrows make names for themselves and be key contributors in the Playoffs. Cut from the same cloth, Ott will look to make his presence known and make life difficult for the opposition.

Young Swede Hampus Lindholm has been making a Brodin-like impact with Beauchemin which has made it difficult to separate the two. The addition of Dan Girardi gives Cam Fowler the defensive mentor and rock to lean on as he gets the green light to drive the rush up the ice. Depending on match ups, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Girardi and Beauchemin united on a shutdown pairing. Tom Gilbert and Sheldon Souray have played together and are a more then capable third pairing.

Ryan Miller has been all world this season keeping the scores in Buffalo respectable. His (extrapolated) .919 SV% tells a very different tale then his (extrapolated) 2-10-0 record in net. His previous performances at in the playoffs and Olympics backstopping the United States proved that Miller is a big game goaltender. Jonas Hiller is his very capable backup with all the merit to be the starter himself.

Offers starting to pick up for Alex Goligoski. I'm open to either roster players or prospects, not too interested in draft picks though.

Stephane Robidas and Vern Fiddler available for a mid prospect.

Still this.

Weaver is a great addition to the team. You can never have enough depth for the playoffs, and his ability to log 20 minutes a night is huge in playoffs where injuries are bound to happen.
