It's a deal we were willing to take a risk on with Trouba's history of holding out, as well as the acquisition of Travis Sanheim. Plus, I'm an Avs fan and know how good Rantanen has been.

We are excited at the options we have at forward now, as we envision playing Mikko and Laine together, but we also have the flexibility of playing Ehlers with Laine as they already have proven chemistry.

confirms. It was tough to give up Rantanen but we believe Trouba is a better player and will be a better player at the end of their careers. Jacob Trouba should add some firepower to a weak defense.

Not really. I hate that for Colorado. Rantanen is honestly the smartest player on the Avs, he's absolutely brilliant. His playmaking abilities and passing with Laine is disgusting.
