Absolutely love Stevens going with Kempe the hot hand in the shootout. That is something that Sutter would have never done.

With the emergence of Kempe, bringing in Cammalleri and the eventual return of Gaborik the Kings are suddenly loaded with skill, a massive and positive change from the last couple of years having guys like this instead of the Nolan's and Andreoff's of the world. That is the way the game is going, happy to finally have a GM and coach who seem to realize that.

It's not the speed. Kempe is easily a much better agile and shifty skater. Speed they're tied. But skating, Kempe is better. Carter skates North to South. He isnt very agile and keep speed when he shifts his body.

It's not an insult to Carter at all, it's just that I think it's pretty apparent that Kempe is a better skater. Definitely more agile and shifty, also better at keeping speed and accelerating through turns and pivots. Carter is north and south he doesn't cut around the ice.

I'm not going to say we stole 2 points because the Kings carried a good portion of the play, but it sure didn't feel like we were gonna pull this one out.

Back-to-back on the road, no Carter, backup goalie in and we still get 2 points. Excellent.

On a separate note, good God the Senators play an extremely boring bland neutral zone trap kind of game.

The snoozefest even continued into OT. No wonder why they are losing attendance as of recently.

I think Kempe consistently looks dangerous at wing flying down a wall for a forecheck/break. That's clearly his inevitable position.
