Don't companies just let go of senior staff every 15 - 20 years to clean house / bring in new lower salaried staff? JH was doing channel 2 sports when I was in high school, ffs!

Over / under: when is the last time Jim Hill actually attended a Kings game? I'm going with 2.5 years

and wig

At least he got the teams right. Called the Coyotes the Nashville Coyotes last week.

Speaking of LA media, saw that Mason and Ireland tried to compare Suh and Donald to Kobe and Shaq. These guys are so pathetic, they can't even stop talking about the Lakers when they actually attempt to talk about anyone else.

Al Michaels was on the radio in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, they asked him about the Kings and how he thought they would do (said they are a team that someone like Nashville doesn't want in round 1), the 2 minutes they spent talking about the Kings is probably 2 minutes more time than the Kings have gotten on either 570 or 710. Sad

I'm glad Phaneuf got those points, because he's been pretty bad lately.

I think its funny how people will always jump on Forbort, but Phaneuf has been making gaffes every game now and no one says anything.

Mason and Ireland are a couple of clowns. I don't give two ***** about the sub-.500 Lakers.

Hope their stay in the lower half of the NBA standings is a long one.

You have been calling him average from day one. Somehow, I think you are not totally unbiased either.

Phaneuf is not flawless, true but it looks like you are just not a fan of him.

I have the same issue with Muzzin.

I've been calling Phaneuf average from day one?

I think I have said he's average defensively before, but it was meant as a compliment. I've mostly praised/complimented him and the trade.

Probably perception. They got Phaneuf for Gaborik, which means they finally got rid of Gaborik, a possibility which was endlessly debated. Forbort is a constant reminder of the possibility of having Tarasenko instead.

But why would the Kings want a talented sniper to flank alongside Kopitar? All he does is score goals, like the game tying and winning goals last night.

The Kings have Kopitar for the same reason they don't have Tarasenko. That's the only way not to go crazy with the missed draft picks as a fan. Every team has multiple what if's. Turns out Tarasenko should've been in the top 5, if not top 3 that year. Plenty of teams missed.

The Kings had the 15th overall pick, and they have the 8th highest goal scorer, and 13th highest point producer from that draft. 11th in points per game. It didn't come with that pick, but they didn't walk away with nothing. Even Forbort isn't nothing. As of today, the Kings still have 2 of the top 47 players in games played from 2010. If 2 players per draft is a quality draft, and there's 30 teams at the time, the Kings are better than average there. Plus they only had 5 picks, so not even 1 per round.

Just saying, it could've been worse.

To add to those facts regarding the 2010 draft...

The Kings actually moved up in 2010 to select Forbort at 15. They dealt picks #19 (Nick Bjugstad) and #59 (Jason Zucker) to Florida.

The King also moved up two spots from #49 to #47 in order to draft Toffoli, sending #48 (Calvin Pickard) and #149 (Alex Theriau) in order to nab Toffoli.

Things certainly could have been worse, like the Rangers selecting Dylan McIlrath at #10, ahead of Cam Fowler.

When are NHL teams going to learn that selecting stiffs like that almost never works out? Selecting a physical, stay-at-home type in the first round is sheer stupidity.

Average defensively I meant. I didnt know it was a compliment.
It was in response to people saying his defense was trash.

My comment that you quoted was the first negative post I've made about him. Phaneuf has been bad recently. I hope it's not a sign of things to come.

I thought they moved up for Tarasenko.

I could still understand this choice because he wasnt seen as a stiff stay at home defenseman.

He was putting up points, defensively responsible, was big and could skate.

All around package.

Well he is still big, for his size a decent skater, unfortunately no offense and defensively responsible in half of his games. :(

I like the way Brown has been skating. It was on display again in this game. At 33, he looks energetic and light on his feet.

His stick handling right now is the best its ever been.

He has a team best +28. 5th best in the NHL.
