You keep saying that but you dont think other GMs will recognize a tire fire when they see one and know what a known commodity like a Jeff Carter or a Trevor Lewis would bring their team?

I'm just going by history around the league under the cap.

Even if Blake could make a bunch of trades in the midst of a tire fire, you really want him to make those trades right now? Selling for pennies on the dollar because of desperation? This is the same team that has 0 home playoff wins in 4 years. Where's the rush at this point?

I'm for letting it play out. At least they have their pick.

Does it matter if you lose 7-2 or 3-1? A loss is a loss.

We're talking about relative usefulness of players, as you brought up Kopitar's point total.

Kopitar makes this team a substantially better team even when not scoring.

I get what youre saying but I'm saying there is no need to trade pennies on the dollar because other GMs will recognize this team is a mess and is not indicative of regular play for guys that are known commodities.

Technically there is no rush but for a management that is marketing the team as a contender to allow the roster to stagnate and stay the way it is goes against all that they are saying.

Burn it down, burn it all down. Players, coaches, scheme, etc, it's all a dumpster fire right now.

I just don't think other GM's won't squeeze Blake. Especially if the other GM has a team that's playing well, and has time to wait Blake out.

The only expiring contracts are Thompson, Fantenberg, and Budaj. There's no easy guy on this roster to trade, and it's that much more complicated the worse the team plays.

Picks. I'm ready for a rebuild.

It's a hard cap league. The Kings don't have many UFA's, and the UFA's they do have aren't worth anything. Who is trading picks? You'll probably have to take a contract back close to equal value for most of the guys on this team, probably without much improvement in the quality of the pick.

Man, I've made a conscious effort to be doing something else where I have no access to the Kings' game during game times and it's been so much easier. I'm not even mad right now, I'm just shocked that every time I lower my expectations, they're surpassed.
