Post-Game Talk: GM 69 | Canucks def. Jets | 6-2 (Boeser x2, Suter x2, Hoglander, O’Connor) | Just as we all predicted!

I don't think the cap raises will be linear for role players to be honest.

Think the high-end elite players gets the bulk of that cap increase. Good teams rarely ever have high salaried role players on their team - I don't anticipate that to change.

Good points though. I think $4M is steep for someone who's never scored more than 36 points (will surpass that this year). He's on pace for career highs but he's a consistent bottom six guy. How many bottom six forwards are getting 4M+? Only like elite bottom six F.

It doesn’t have to be linear, but when there is a weak ufa class combined with a to of extra cash available.

Thats a bit too high.

Doubt anyone goes above 3 years for him. 4 would be the absolute highest at around 3-3.5m per.

I would give Suter 5 years if it meant lower the AAV. He has so much utility and can up and down the lineup, I'm not really worried about that term. He's slow anyway so it's not like he'll drop off hard if he loses speed.

What a pleasant surprise! We might still falter down the stretch but at least we've played up to the stiffer competition. Lots of guys had a lot more legs in this game, EP40's skating looks stronger, not close to previous seasons but better than so far this season.

Happy for Boeser, but he has to really step up for them to make the playoffs.

Honestly even if we get swept in the first round, the first step is for this team to make the playoffs consistently. It's baby steps here, I think we've forgotten that we were basement dwellers for 8 years.

If the Canucks had beaten Utah 6-2 and then lost to the Jets 3-1, it would have made perfect sense. But in the weird and wacky NHL, almost anything seems to be possible.

Canucks are currently tied with the Blues in points, but St. Louis has two more regulation wins. So Thursday's game is almost a 'must win'. Going three down in the ROW column, would probably be fatal.

...Everyone!

Although Lekkerimaki wasn't prominent on the score-sheet with just one secondary assist--it was easily his best game as a Canuck so far.

I love his work on the PP along the left, half wall. The guys on the PK have to cheat to cover him because of his lethal release--and it opens up so much room or Quinn Hughes on the blueline. Hughes was at his 'ankle-breaking best' on that lone PP goal.

For a 20-year-old first year pro, Lekkerimaki has really done just about everything you could have expected or asked for. I really see a lot of Kyle Connor in his game. I think the Canucks really have a budding, special player in this kid.
