Post-Game Talk: GM 69 | Canucks def. Jets | 6-2 (Boeser x2, Suter x2, Hoglander, O’Connor) | Just as we all predicted!

I’d go as high as $3.5M with term. Maybe higher on a shorter deal.

I’d seriously look to package/move off Chytil for an upgrade
Was thinking of this too.

Chytil has a lot of raw talent but too much risk for a franchise who's looking to compete.

We have a great working relationship with Chicago. Something like Chytil for Teravainen would be some solid work as long as we can grab a 2C somewhere (trade,UFA) and re-sign Suter.

Pretty damn good game top to bottom. We had lots of other quality looks that Hellebuyck denied, too.

Critical thing here is going to be maintaining this kind of effort. Thursday’s game against St. Louis is massive - and other than Utah losing, we didn’t get much help on the out of town scoreboard tonight.

Great to see Brock scoring and smiling - hopefully the dam has broken there. Suddenly we have three 20-goal guys on the team. Suter continues adding to his career high in goals, Sherwood hits a career high in points. Lekkerimaki looked solid, Karlsson was productive, Lankinen made big saves, the PK was huge…

Just carry this over into the next game. Please, boys!
They need to continue playing the style they played tonight, they looked like the team from last season.
Hogz has been playing so well for months now, it's a shame that he hasn't been given top six minutes, he's the perfect winger for EP imo.

Keep Linus up and ffs get Raty up here and sit Joshua once we get Garland and Chytil back.

Joshua got a pass earlier for obvious reasons but he does nothing offensively and has he even dropped the gloves this season?
When healthy.....

Hogz - EP Boeser
Debrusk - Chytil - Lekkerimakki
Garland - Suter- Sherwood
O'Connor - Blueger -Raty/Linus
Or some combo of these forwards.

I just don't see what Dak brings and I'd move him for cap space to put towards July 1st.
Marner is my dream but Ehlers would also look great

Sometimes it seems like Linus Karlsson's progress has been glacial bouncing back and forth between the AHL and NHL. But something has definitely clicked this year. He just looks quicker, and is really shifty and effective along the wall.

Give you some hope for some of the other guys in Abbotsford, like Raty, Sasson and even Klimovich. Sometimes it just takes players two or three seasons in the minors to find their game.

Big fan of Karlsson - he definitely should be a staple. Been impressed every time I see him this year.

He's good around the net - think he could score 30 points in a bottom six role.

Absolutely not.

We don't have the cap space or flexibility to do something like this.

He should get something similar to Joshua's extension. $3.75 x 4 years is more then fair.

I am not taking a side on this just pointing out.

If you think he is worth the same as Joshua, it’s not 3.75, it’s 4.05, and that assumes you don’t take into account the next two years of cap increases.

The cap goes up 24% I believe over the next three seasons, so you will see raises accordingly.

Six goals without Chytil and Garland against WPG, going 1/1 on the PP.

Tocchet haters awfully quiet this game. This game just proves that Tocchet is not the problem.

The players need to execute, they need to work hard, they need to go to the dirty areas, need courage to get into the middle, hold onto pucks etc. The coach can't do that for you. This is game where we saw players continually in attack mode.

We've also been one of the unluckiest teams all year both on and off the ice. Couple bounces here and there and this team would easily be comfortably in playoff spot.

I don't think the cap raises will be linear for role players to be honest.

Think the high-end elite players gets the bulk of that cap increase. Good teams rarely ever have high salaried role players on their team - I don't anticipate that to change.

Good points though. I think $4M is steep for someone who's never scored more than 36 points (will surpass that this year). He's on pace for career highs but he's a consistent bottom six guy. How many bottom six forwards are getting 4M+? Only like elite bottom six F.

Honestly thought we were going to get pummeled, so that was nice lol.

Some iffy moments in the 1st period but you're not going to play a perfect game against a team as good as the Jets. And although there are still too many easy transition plays that we mess up, our transition through the neutral zone was much better tonight especially when it came to skating - we didn't look that slow.

First lines are pretty much like good goaltending, if you have it you have a good chance. For most of this season we haven't had a first line, tonight we did.

Can't say enough about how dialed in our PK is right now. Suter and Blueger doing yeoman's work up front. Both guys have been fantastic this year in their roles, showing consistent work ethic every night. About as good as you can ask for a 3C and 4C, especially at their cap-hits.

As mentioned by the commentators and others here, Karlsson had a nice game. He looked good in his previous call-up too and probably didn't deserve to be sent down. He finally looks like he's in the play rather than always being a step behind.

Some guy in the last PGT said the below about our PP. I won't mention his name but seems like a very wise, handsome fellow:

"Just get Lekk on the left wall and Petey on the right wall and feed them one timers with Boeser and Debrusk in front screening/tipping/rebounding like how complicated is it?"

Linus Karlsson has no skills that pop out and yet he seems to always be in the right place and makes a ton of good plays.

Hoping Lekk stays in the lineup somehow and we keep him for spot PP1 duty. Having the threat of a shot on the left side does wonders for the PP...Garland is a much better 5v5 player.

Need Boeser engaged like that more. Once he got that first goal he started moving his feet.
