GDT: GM#63 LA Kings vs Carolina Hurricanes @4:00pm 2/26/19

it's sad because ottawa is an ahl team, while the kings are just playing like one

i guess age caught up to these guys. i didn't think the drop off would be quite so dramatic but here we are. the team sucks, there's no leadership, hardly any skill, our defense sucks, quick forgot how to play hockey, and our prospect pool isnt super great

but you know what, at least we have those two cups. time to rebuild

Need a veteran leader to stand up in the locker room and rally the troops to close out the roadie on a positive note. Reservations just opened up at Skybar and one of the rookies needs to book a table using Kovy’s connection with the doorman.

Because good young teams who are ready to take the next step like Calgary and Carolina etc.. will be fooled by his reputation for a playoff warrior and also they have great young two way forwards who compete and have great dmen where they will cover Quicks holes in his game. It’s a chance for them to go for a cup with Quick in net if the stars align for them

WD will ONLY say positives after the game and NOT call anyone out - the most negative he will get is to talk about a few mishaps or lapses - but never get pissed or yell at the players. I actually wish Tortorella could coach one game and call these losers, unacountables and excuse makers out and rip them 3 new ones. Tell them they should be ashamed and look in the mirror and ask them what they're going to do to change this.
 
After this love fest for J Dub, he’s due to get a goal in the third to run up the score.
 
Let's talk the 2008 LA Kings.

Seven goalies played that year, including 19 games of Jean-Sebastien Aubin.
Still had two, 30 goal scorers.
Handzus played all 82 games, only had 21 points and was a -21 for the green jacket.
38 year old Blake and 21 year old Jack Johnson right behind him at -19 each.
Ivanans played 73 games!

19 games left for this current trash. Need 18 points to match this 2008 team. Need 15 to match the even worse 2007 team.

It is totally in f***ing play that they finish in this range. Pretty astounding stuff when you look at the dollars being spent, the lack of impact youth that at least the '07 and '08 teams had and the fact that this team has a Norris finalist and Selke winner/Hart finalist from the year prior.

At least people survived the Titanic and then a huge movie got made about it.

Kings won't finish last. They'll probably finish 4th-5th worst. Ottawa, Anaheim, and Detroit are managing to actually outsuck the Kings.

It seems like it, but this is 7 in a row with some being in pretty demoralizing fashion.

If Willie keeps rolling the vets, they can definitely get there because they are simply not trying.

Anyone aaaaaanyone will be better then what we have right about now. Not one bit surprised no one in the league wanted our junk during the trade deadline. Unbelievable. Kakko and Hughes better be good.

Is there an edge though? I've heard they're interchangeable early last season.
