None of those guys are top 4 d-man with the possible exception of Miller. I don't like to comment on players I haven't seen much of, but I've seen Hults and Anderson. Both have a long long way to go to be top 4 d-man in the NHL. It's more likely they never make the league than make it as top 4 guys.
LaDue is 26 years old and in and out of the lineup.
McKeown is 23 and in the AHL
Roy is 24 and just getting taste of the NHL on a bottom feeder team.
This is just like the forwards when people celebrate because we have drafted so many NHL 4th liners. Defense are just like forwards. Give me one Charlie McAvoy over three LaDue's or Roy's.
You can be optimistic all you want, but the reality is the best d-man LA has drafted in the last decade is Colin Miller. We can split hairs on whether he is truly a top 4 or not, but if hes the best d-man you draft over a decade things probably are going to be as ugly as theyve been for the Kings the last 5 years.
