It's so interesting reading the post game threads when you can't watch the game yourself. I have no idea how Petterson played. Some people are saying he was the best forward and showed signs of life, others think he should be sent to the ahl.

That is why i have just diagnosed the team with shootphobia
I don’t even think they are regularly passing up prime shooting opportunities. They just get blocked every time they try.

Rather, they aren’t getting prime shooting opportunities, which is way more concerning. They aren’t quick enough (whether their skating or their puck movement) to get the puck somewhere useful.

I just watched the Washington Capitals repeatedly get grade-A scoring chances against an Oiler team that looked Lemaire-ian against the Canucks in last year’s playoffs. The Canucks are just massively lacking offensively.

Imagine if we have Mat. Tkachuk right now,
Too bad we never had the chance to draft him.

This team is so bad offensively since trading Miller it's funny.
Our top 2 centers carried our offense. No other forward has skills or the talent to create anything on their own volition.

And now we don’t have the guy who was carrying one of those lines, and the other guy isn’t playing right.

Even if Pete does bounce back next year, we’re short two top 6, line driving forwards, and a 2c. I feel like we’re f***ed. That’s not a reasonable ask for management to do.

Top offensive guys are slow.
Their passing is slow.
We have no one who can shoot in motion.
No one has a cannon of a shot.

The gameplan is often a bunch of telegraphed plays which allows for defenders to always get in the lane to block shots OR crash and bang the net for loose pucks which we almost never get to.

This is probably the worst collection of forwards since 2017.

Bains had 12 shifts in 7:12. Did he get injured?

Down on the farm, Karlsson leads the team with 1.23 pt/g. In his last 11 , he's 10/8/18. I'd say that's impressive, but maybe it's flukey and Bains is the better call-up right now.

(Karlsson with a goal and two assists in Abby's 4-3 OT loss tonight.)

Forwards were easy to blame but the usual Myers and Forbort had plenty bad plays and actually Marcus Pete was atrocious tonight
sure agree the defense had some issues but our forwards are pathetic.

It's basically this....

1st line = xxxxxxxx xxxxxxx Boeser
2nd line = Debrusk Pettersson xxxxxxx

3rd line = O'Connor Chytil Garland
4th line = JoshHog Sut/Blu Sherwood

Boeser and Pettersson are shells of what they were to start last year. Both look like they are lost with who thay are playing with (Boeser) or wrecked confidence with a messed knee lost training and weak.
Debrusk is good and bad pretty good right now but is still a 3rd wheel top6 not a cerebral player

Garlands magic has worn off. He's worn down and has little to no help with where he's getting used.
Chytil has tunnel vision. He's gonna get rocked. Very poor top6 option or a good 3C
DOC is a bad 3rd liner who at maximum can help 2 good top6 forwards at times.
Hoglander Blueger Suter are depth pieces. Not even quality top9 forwards
Did Bains play?
Joshua has been a write off. Basically a 4th liner this year

Certainly can push up a player or 2 at times like Sherwood who has shown capable and of course Joshua last year but we're missing 3 top6 players or at least 2 and Joshua to come back to us.

Boeser you have to find someone to play to get an effective goal scorer and back out of the red.. Pettersson should bounce back to at least a good top6C (green).
Debrusk is what he is. He's green with 2 good players when he's on but he's not gonna create offense or QB a top6 line.

No idea why Bains is up over Karlsson, Aman is such a nothing player aswell. I remember when Goncalves went on waivers and they didn't pick him up, he's playing solid now and would be an upgrade over the Sea of Bains they are rolling out.
