GDT: GM#54 LA Kings vs Philadelphia Flyers @4:00pm 2/7/19

Idk whether to be happy that they've put a streak together, Adrian is doing great with out carter's hollow corpse taking a spot.

God I do want Hughes

Ah, we are on course now.

I feel conflicted, I like seeing wins but I know I'm rooting for losses, I just want losses right now, this team is so much better without Carter apparently

Just root for wins. You're not the GM, you're not the coach, you're not the players, rooting for wins or losses doesn't effect whether or not the team wins or loses. This team will finish wherever they finish regardless.

I won't be mad at players for winning games. What's unfortunate is that the Kings are stuck in Siberia because they have no cap room, older guys and not much to bring up in terms of big impact guys. I mean, they are playing Leipsic, a guy they got of the waiver wire major minutes. That's how little talent they have to draw from.

It reminds me of the way things were years ago. The only way to really fix this team for the longterm is to draft well. The wins are fun but to scrape into the playoffs just to see how far away they are from the elite teams is a somewhat underwhelming feeling.

The only top 10 pick on the Kings squad that won the cups was Doughty. You do need good drafting, but you don't have to Oiler's to accomplish that. I'd rather see confidence in our youngsters and a mid 1st round pick than begging for some lottery balls to bounce our way.

I haven't been able to watch any of these games because of work. How do the Kings look? Are they actually playing well? Or are these wins aberrations?

I'm not getting my hopes up, but they have played well on this road trip

They're actually playing very well. You can maybe throw out the previous two due to opponent, but tonight they played very structured, limited Philly's chances (see above re: 80% of the high danger chances), crushed it on the PK vs. a PP that was 7 for their last 10...just a complete game from everyone, no goalie carries or one-line efforts. They actually had a few more breakaways and just couldn't finish as Stolarz played well too.

Only player I want to dump on tonight is Forbort.

They've looked fine, Kempe and Toffoli have stepped up and we're getting timely goals. But they've been against bad teams so grain of salt and all that.

Well, if anything it makes the guys that are rumoured to be available more intriguing to other clubs looking to buy at the deadline.

I'd rather miss the playoffs and pick top 3 than make the playoffs and lose in the 1st round.

But I'd rather pick 17th overall and make the playoffs than pick 11th overall and miss the playoffs.
