Detroit got outplayed by every single Western Canadian team and somehow won every game. In fact ever since the coach change they haven't had a single game where they played better than a team in a playoff spot and still won multiple. They've lost a single game where they were the better team since their coaching change. I legit see this as a coaching bump rather than them truly improving.
it's fine maybe yzerman will do something stupid and ruin the team's future even more lol

Its 3 on 3, there's going to be chances.

Overally game, canucks I thought played well enough to win.

Needed more from the players on the top line - that much is obvious.

And I'd argue if we had Hughes, we likely win this game.
100%. Red Wings were playing their 2nd game in less than 24 hours. Had 1 shot in the 3rd.

Canucks needed to win this one, even without Hughes.

You act like Matthews hasn’t missed a bunch of time this year. They’re 10-5 without him this year. 45-24-2 all time. So a really good team still.

Canucks ARE a shit team without Hughes.
Yea Marner is piling points and Nylander is a man possessed with the puck on his stick

Despite the loss, I don't have many complaints. It was always going to be a struggle with three new guys, a rookie drawing back in after 4+ games sitting and Hughes out.

The good news is Chytil looked fantastic. And the fact our defense didn't look like a complete mess even with Hughes out highlights just how needed a guy like Marcus was. O'Connor was more dynamic in his first game with us than Heinen has been most of the season.

Hell of a showing for D. Petey too.

The problem with Chytil has never been his ability, it's his durability. That's why they gave him up.

If he can stay healthy, he's likely a 50-60 point player in the right circumstances. A far cry from Miller but still a solid 2C option.

The real issue right now is with our so called #1 centre who looks as dismal as ever without Miller in the lineup.

I thought Pettersson played well today. He gets at least 2 points if Boeser got his shit together

This was my thought too. Most dangerous player on his line by a mile. Boeser was snake bitten, and DeBrusk skated lots without doing much. Petey should also have drawn several penalties.

I DO wish he’d use his laser beam shot more, but this was a solid game for him.

The new guys looked full of life, though. And D-Petey was so good. Man, I hope he or Mancini stays in over Juulsen when everyone is healthy.

Why would Garland not shoot that and hope Chytil gets a rebound instead of handcuffing him while he's not even standing in a scoring position? That's so frustrating, and we're seeing bad decisions like that in almost every single OT they've played. It's like they're psyching themselves out all the time. Gripping the sticks too tight, over thinking everything. At what freaking point do they actually look comfortable in OT? Ever?
