I don't want to be that guy, but the Kings were never really a "tough" team. Remember we got Carcillo to address the lack of balls on this team. I think people mistook heavy forecheck for being a mean team.

Eh, Don't know about that. Don't think anyone wanted to get in the way of Greene, Rehger, Clifford (before he got his eggs scrambled). Mike Richards would stand up big time as would Williams & Mitchell. Fraser. Even Nolan. This team fought for each other. Now not so much.

Just watch games from 2012-2014 Mitchell/Greene on the PK was carnage. The front of Quick was remarkably clear.

Okay someone just level Gaudreau, Tkachuk, or Smith. Legal or Illegal. I don't care. Make it happen.

Okay I agree with this but Williams and King.. KING lol. Dude was a monk.
Regarding King, he had the odd fight here and there. King didn't make big open ice hits, but I don't think people realize how deflating it is to play against a 240 lbs man who just seals you off on the boards by mashing you into them every time the puck is around and you meet him on the ice. Not to mention it hurts a lot.

Yup. Once I sat down on the glass an King came flying in, didn’t throw a big hit but just put his body on a dude and the boards nearly collapsed. King was a BIG dude.

Sorry but alot if you have really awful takes on Gaudreau and it’s been that way on this board for 4 years now. He is to this board what Brown is to the Sharks board. Going back to his rookie year when “It’ll be just a matter of time before someone like Regehr or Greene ends his career”

First off no one is going to straight up cheap shot anyone intentionally for the sole purpose of injuring him. How can anyone suggest this?

And it’s not just the Kings who struggle to slow him down legally. His speed and elusiveness carrying the puck is in the top 1% in the league and he always has his head up when he has the puck.
