Nobody here was pleased to see most of those names go, and a number of them would be irrelevant in today’s game. Did you forget how Dwight King played last season? Or how Penner couldn’t stick with another team? Or how about Scuderi’s second run here? Or how Stoll also couldn’t find a home as well?

The result we see today still resonates from Lombardi’s mistakes. Blake hasn’t put his stamp on this team, yet.

Man Colin Fraser. It's amazing what a perfect group that 2012 playoff roster was. As an aside I had no idea Fraser went on to do financial planning, pretty cool:

I don't want to be that guy, but the Kings were never really a "tough" team. Remember we got Carcillo to address the lack of balls on this team. I think people mistook heavy forecheck for being a mean team.

Looking back at our Championship teams they were all spread with toughness. So many of the guys were willing to stand up for each other. Richards, Williams, Mitchell, Regher, Greene, Penner, Fraser, Clifford, King, Nolan, etc.

nice to see guys trying to help out other players with financials

i remember the padres had a guy for a while, jody gerut, who was a stanford grad and retired cause he didn't want to just play for a paycheck then went on to try and help guys not end up broke after playing for a few years. lots of guys with pretty mediocre educations being handed piles of money. they need as much help as they can get.
