Sooooo what did I miss besides an ass whooping?

The Canucks getting no calls.
The Oilers having their way on Garland and Hughes.
Sherwood injury.
Demko being broken.
Perry being a douche.
The entire team other than Garland, Hughes, blueger, sherwood not caring.
Desharnais stupidity.

Quite honestly you didn't miss a thing my friend.

In the end, it doesn't matter how, but team needs to be better.

As I said, skeletor and moleman are giving me Commando Dimbo vibes now - and I do NOT say that lightly. When everyone's healthy this is a playoff team? What are you talking about??? How about blink twice if you're being held at gunpoint?

Our front office needs to pull their heads out of their own asses and DO THEIR GODDAMN JOBS.
Honestly I think we should be thankful that they aren’t making a trade right now. That they haven’t despite how poorly the team has played is indicative of how bad the trade market is and how much they would lose any trade they make.

They didn’t do their job this past off-season—but I think they are probably making the right call by not doubling down on this core with a bad trade now.

The thing that I hated the most in this game was when Soucy had an opportunity to hammer Perry in the corner—maybe 10 min after Perry had taken down Hughes in that scrum.

And Soucy let up on Perry instead. This team is not looking out for each other. Not even after your captain and best player is wronged.

I would not mind seeing Soucy let go this off-season when his trade protection expires. His play is meh but his attitude is way too laissez-faire. It’s no surprise that Minnesota and Seattle let him go so easily.

And that could easily have been a toughness play, from a guy who has hit and has fought, and nothing.

People voting a lack of toughness here are off base. Even the players with grit here do nothing.

Ok fine, blow it up. But I’ll be damned if I’m gonna give him up for another team’s trash AND having to retain.

I rather just make off-season trades beyond Brock if we’re blowing it up. Frustration and impatience is useless.

100% agreed. trade him but only if we get proper value out of him. jt miller still has solid production and has the perception of underperforming for playing in a bad team environment that doesnt gel. i dont see why canucks cant get good value out of him

Buddy the Canucks own management team was about to trade him for nothing last weekend for exactly that reason 😂.

Surely Allvin is just addicted to the drama though right
I’ve said that myself, this management group is unravelled and impatient. Such a poor look for a group to constantly call out your players and allowing them to be gossiped and on the trading block like this. Unf***ing professional.

And let’s not pretend this is a current year thing. Brock and Garland have been forced to look for their own trades too.

Not saying they are equivalent of Dimbo, but they are starting to speak and act in similar ways.

The state of the team's defense, aside from the catastrophic fall of Soucy, is 100% their doing. And they think everyone healthy means this is a playoff team.

No, just...no.
I think the fall of Soucy really set everything back. All signs point to them thinking Soucy-Myers was a good pair and if they hold on till like Jan tolling cap space, they would be able to get trade for that anchor D to round out the D.
Then Soucy played went off a cliff and then we had injuries to everyone preventing us from rolling cap and here we are.

I think Demko coming back and putting up sub 880 svp doesn’t help as well.

Would not be surprised if pretty much everyone outside of Hughes/Hronek was available in some capacity.

Is there any point keeping Hughes if they start tearing down the team. They'd be keeping the only player whose value is up. They could have made a liking last year selling high in just about everyone.

I don't see a clear path for management to fix this. They will need a bunch of high risk, low probability moves to pay off over the next 6 months. If they don't it won't matter, it'll be some other management's problem.

boeser is mad in that post-game. don't think i've ever seen him like that.

maybe some fight in these guys yet.
Nah, there were too many nights like tonight this season. Things are only getting worse. But it'd be nice for players, coaches, and managers to start saying like it is without gaslighting with "we're good it's just tonight things didn't go our way."

That's totally fair - don't make bad trades unless there's logic and reason to it (like if the team is VERY close to cup level and has cap space, trading assets away and eating a bad contract for the extra push).

But once again, the puck and the ice speak for themselves without saying a single word. Result, is, KING. If trades are unattainable, make them attainable, or find other ways. Whatever it takes, to get the job done.

If they believe from the bottom of their heart that this team is playoff worthy when healthy, then they should not be allowed here in the organization.

They may have to for Hughes sake, outside of him the rest of them can stew in it for the remainder of the season as far as I’m concerned. I could see them pivoting to trading Pettersson now if the return is more substantial.

Make Miller an offseason thing.

I'm not blaming this loss on Toc. I'm not blaming this loss on the refs, despite the grease they gave the Oil tonight.

Just once this year, I'd like to see Toc tear a strip off the refs IN SUPPORT OF HIS PLAYERS.

He rightly states several times that the refs have a tough job to do. No argument there. But so do the players and coaches, who have to go out after every game and answer to the public - something the refs and their bosses don't have to do.
