Perry is a far dirtier player with a longer history of actual cheap shots than Garland, terrible comparison.
That’s ok we are allowed to disagree…It's rare that we disagree on every point Tant.
- Delay the Miller deal. Drag this out. Every player but Hughes has been bad (Hronek was been a tire fire). Lowball offers are rumoured. Don't deal from this position. Wait for when teams can better navigate the cap.
- Demko has been out already for a long time. Where one would be concerned about this medical staff and players coming back early, I don't see that danger here. This is rust and adapting a new style during the season (check out the Woodley interviews).
- If Boeser doesn't take the shorter term deal Kypreos says is the hang up, he will be traded. He wants 7-8 years and they're just not willing to go there. But if he took 4-5 years, they have to focus on bringing him back imo.
Pettersson needs someone in the room aside from Hughes and Miller to push him to do it.
I recall when Pettersson got levelled by Lauzon in the playoffs. He didn't do anything, and no one else did either... He has to understand that sometimes even skill players have to scuffle (Zetterberg).
Miller - not saying you jettison him for anything. It needs to be a solid trade. I think that can be done now and you need not wait. I think it can become even more problematic by waiting if he plays another 30 disinterested games and news continues to be magnified.
Demko - this is beyond adjusting to a new stance. These are not middling numbers as a goaltender adjusts. These are terrible numbers with little indication of improvement through 2+ months. And I have to wonder why change stance? If it’s because of the injury then that’s just part of the problem. I’m not saying this is a rushing guy back. They have said he has to learn to play through this unusual injury so it may be a lingering thing. He hasn’t done a good job so far. I hope I’m wrong but he looks cooked right now.
Boeser - they either get him signed or they deal him before the deadline. Last I saw there had been no contract discussions and we aren’t that far from the deadline at this point. So right now they need to be assessing the trade market for his services.
