Drew Doughty got asked if the level of Compete is enough.... "No. You see some guys playing physical and the bottom line is that the Kings have to be a physical hockey team. We’re not as skilled as the other teams, that’s just the bottom line. We have to be physical team. We have to be a hard team to play against. We have to have teams come in here and be like, ‘Oh no, we’ve got to play the LA Kings again in their arena,’ you know? I don’t see enough physicality from our team. I don’t see enough compete and that’s why we’re losing these games to teams that are fighting for the last spot with us in the standings too. I’m not talking about New Jersey necessarily, I’m talking about other teams, but how we’re losing to these teams. It’s not acceptable". Drew Doughty.

Interesting coming from Doughty, I thought he was very happy to see Sutter's style of gritty hockey leave town.

and how many picks does amadio have to fight through to get to that puck?

You can add Kopitar to that list too. All night , soon as he came across the blueline, a dman would leave his lane and hold him up. Maybe if our guys started diving all over the place they'd call something.

Sometimes you don't know what you've got until it's gone.

Thank god I fell asleep towards the end of the 2nd period. Thank you rain for preventing me from driving to staples to witness another on ice abortion.
At least this team is known for being one thing.... the fat chick. the slump buster! haha

Its almost as if most players can’t be trusted to see the bigger picture, and should stick to chasing pucks.

That goes for former players too. Looking at you, Luc and Rob.

Positives:
-I only watched the 1st
-Clifford scored (Now has the same amount of goals as Kovalchuk, Carter, Iafallo, and Toffoli.)
-We lost

Negatives:
Leipsic is too fast.

When will Iafallo be benched? No points again and a minus 3. He's not a first line player, he might as well have Klatt on the back of his jersey.

One game sample size much?

He was a plus one last game, plus one the game before that,

His game is much more than scoring and being positive, if you think Iafallo is the problem, not sure what to tell ya

Fair points. But he's still not a first line winger.

Also throwing out the same lines every game when those lines aren't productive is also a problem. Although they did finally make a couple changes yesterday.

The more I watch Kopitar the less I like him. Laziest player on the roster. DD talks about lack of compete, lack of emotion, lack of effort. Look no further than the captain. Even goes thru the typical cliches in interviews, no emotion, lack of accountability. Seriously wished he'd be benched like NJ did Hall in their previous game. Send a F-ing message to the room by sitting his sackless arse.

So tired of Kopitar. If Blake had an ounce of passion for the Kings, he'd being doing his due diligence in trying to deal him. Don't care about a NMC, earn your f-ing paycheck and get it done. Believe me, it'll be addition by subtraction. So tired

Sad when the highest scoring forward the last few weeks is Clifford.

Good to see Leipsic, kid is a refreshing add.

Thank baby Jesus WD split up Carter-Toffoli. That was a positive.

Wagner looks more comfortable each game. He and Kempe and Toffoli looked decent.

That's it. Pretty much hate this team right now.

Keep 'er going boys.

The little bit I watched last night, Doughty was trying to throw his weight around. Maybe he is fed up with getting embarrassed night after night.

Agree, he's putting in the effort and I believe he's basically calling out "the core" to do the same.

Liking Doughty more, liking Kopitar less.

It was never the style of play but rather the task master they tired of!

This doesn't ring true at all. The players wanted a different style of play. Go back an look at the interviews Kopitar and Doughty gave after Sutter was fired.
