The wife stories. 2012. Time is winding down, im celebrating by myself (I live in the boonies in Washington State) and my eyes are getting teary.

Then my wife comes in, "Are you really going to cry."

In my head I thought, "Not no more *****."

In 2012 I cried my eyes out in front of my roommates and GF thinking they were going to make fun of my but they all took a second and realized right then how much that meant to me after so many years of suck.

In 2014 I screamed my head off in front of my then-one-year-old daughter and she still remembers it somehow which is going to make for a wonderful, meaningful story someday.

In 2018 I just cuss a lot, and they all understand.

2012 I was on a flight home from Hawaii, and had the game recording. They of course announced it on the plane. I cried, and ordered a bottle of champagne from the flight attendant. when we landed in LAX they had changed the runway lights to purple.

2014 I was lucky enough to be there live. greatest moment of my life so far.

aaaaand now in 2018, I don't yell at the tv because its not worth it haha

Honestly this is kind of sad but Leipsic looked like one of the most skilled forwards on the ice for the Kings

I know how you feel. I was at both cup clinching games. All I could think about as the clock winded down in 2012 was I wish Dad was here to see this.

Something I never thought I would see and it happened not once, but twice. Sports isn't a big deal to fans because of the players or even the teams, it's who you bond with and the company you enjoy while watching. Today, Dad and I would not be entertained by this team.

Remember when we made fun of the Ducks fans after winning in 2012, saying it was such a long time ago?

Here we are. Waxing nostalgic.

Being at the game last night was like being at a game in the midst of the 2000's playoff drought, except less exciting. Sold five tickets for $6 each before fees. The three rows in front of me were practically empty except for a Yotes fan in the row in front of us that fully understood how I felt--and told me so--as I continually mocked the performance on the ice.

They are playing sub-Coyote level hockey but with one of the highest payrolls in the league. Astonishing.

exactly. I was with my two best friends who were as diehard as I am. having them there made it that much more emotional. by the time we stopped hugging everyone in sight they were halfway thru the handshake line.

funny how the years spent winning were also the years we spent plastering every living thing into the boards

this team can't play finesse hockey, they need to accept that and stop trying

or try finesse on offense, but punish people on defense. best of both worlds
