Easy to wear rose colored glasses when things work, but with 3 solid lines I wonder if those guys were told they just had to figure it out because the talent is there

If they can maintain games like this consistently we will have 4 lines that work and that's probably a huge part of don wanting them to work through it

It's all about the chemistry

Vic has been engaged in a way he hasn't been for most of the last month or so. He's won some battles. He's contesting pucks on the wall. He's moving his feet. It's sort of like the success he, Mitts and Asplund had at the end of last year. How they brought it out of him, I don't know. Maybe they told him he's coming out of the lineup if things don't get better. Maybe he has some pride and did it on his own. Whatever it is, he needs to bring this because it makes such a difference for that line.

Jost wasn't this guy for the Wild. It seems he understands the NHL meal ticket is close to not being part of his life any more and he's motivated.
still afraid he is now playing well because it's kind of his last chance and he will be back to what he was someday, hope I'm wrong

Some guys take a bit to find a niche to fill, a role to play. And if his play flags, he comes out of the lineup and the existential dread of being a moment away from riding the bus in Iowa or Rochester is now his life.

It's nice knowing all the people who said skinner was overpaid regardless of being treated ridiculously by Kreuger can shut their trap now.

He's still overpaid and overtermed. And he has n touches with n-1 giveaways on the power play. He clocks 40 per year from here to the end of the deal, and it beings to approach fair ROI.

It's tough playing with that level of energy over a long stretch of games.

We've seen plenty of others provide a short term spark but are not able to maintain that level and eventually fizzle out, guys like Caggiula, Lazar, Scott Wilson, hell even Matt Ellis back in the day come to mind. We'll have to see how long he can keep it up.

Not really understanding the heat for the penalties the Sabres have taken so far. I missed the Jost one, but the Bryson one was completely on him and unnecessary considering the puck was already knocked away from McGinn, and Mittelstadt hit Rakell well after the puck got away from him. Refs called them properly.

They probably missed a couple on the Pens, but overall I haven't seen anything egregious.
