I might be looking too deep into this and could be totally wrong but

I feel like this season , they’ve established a Tocchet system and just decided to stick with it regardless of their opponent. Whether they are playing against a contender or a tanking team, they don’t change their game plan, which sometimes result in getting outplayed by shit teams and it’s not a good habit

Yeah, I'm surprised it isn't Studnicka getting the call now that I think about it.
Someone must have some interest in Karlsson or they're trying to peddle him because otherwise him getting two games makes no sense

I think there's a few factors. Since he turned 24, and is an RFA at the end of the season, this is the last season for him to get any sort of chance to make it in the NHL. His counting stats in the AHL are fine; lead the team in goals last season and is 2nd in points this season. Despite his lack of speed, he can play a bottom-6 role due to his good board work.

The biggest is as you said, he's a good candidate to showcase. If he shows well, and I thought he did against the Flames, then maybe a couple of teams become interested and are willing to take him instead of a draft pick or a different prospect. It's been reported that the Flames are looking for NHL-ready prospects and Karlsson fits that description.

What's the center situation in Abbotsford? Are they okay for bodies? Aman has center flexibility so there's not much need for Studnicka to add that in Vancouver anymore.

I think this is accurate and I think it's also part of a more long-term plan. Have this system become second nature where you don't even have to think about it and you can play it and then slowly start to introduce adjustments

In keeping with recent topics, thread end-title should be Good Knights.

Or has their performance been flacid lately?

And that's how you play tired which is a clear problem for this core group. Too many years of playing with no system.

@Kryten yeah you should laugh, felt like a shit stick after typing that
Haha no worries. It was super innocent. Im personally not a huge fan of any blue green skate mock ups. Id actually be pretty curious of the orca getting the black, red, yellow, white treatment though
