The reality is, Munchkin. There's a core in place. Pettersson has proven he can be a 100+ point player. No FO in hockey history would give up on a player like Pettersson, at his age, just because he's having a down year. Nor would they give up on a core with very good to elite players in every position on it while it's still relatively young. It just isn't reality.

I understand the whole "either be really bad or really good" mantra, but you have to make small positive steps sometimes. Can't always be Vegas and come out of the gate a contender with a core.

It's very possible this core is stale and always will be, but the FO needs to exhaust all of their efforts to make it work first, and that's going to take a few years.

Also he is trying, is just that he's falling down wayyyy more than his rookie season and his decision making has been every slow recently
