Ivan Barbashev would’ve been the perfect top 6 winger for us. Had a chance with Milstein but he found a home with the Knights.

We need to try EP/Kuz/Hogs, they need the winger to muck and do the dirty work. Neither Mikheyev or Kuz has been doing that.

Same issue with Miller line. Boeser is improved this year but in terms of wheels he is what he is. If Miller is off, PDG has to be even more meat and potatoes than he usually is...but he's been in a slump for a few games now. They need to cycle in someone who will give them some energy and speed.

Basically we're playing the bottom-6 against Vegas.
Might be time to start cycling in Bains, Raty, Podkolzin to see if they can provide a solution as the "3rd guy" on any of those lines.

The difference between a team like Vegas and a team trying to learn to be Vegas:

Petey toe drags a Knight and gets past him but Stephenson hustles back, stick-checks and steals the puck.

Boeser skates back as first forward to cover Eichel on the rush against and then decides "my work here is done, I'm going back to my point" and Eichel scores on a wide open chance 2 seconds later.
In our good games we were doing this but there's been a lot of regression to the point where we look more like the Green-era team. It's just been masked by Hughes/Hronek eating so much possession and Miller mostly being a stud. Vegas's size and speed is exacerbating all of this.

They need to practice a lot more, which I understand hasn't really been possible because of the schedule. But they've lost so many of the habits they built up earlier in the season during this stretch of games without much of a break.

We are too easy to play against and too easy to defend. If we're in a rhythm we can dominate due to our talent but if the game isn't going out way we don't really have the ability to force the issue.

Jack Hughes now has more points than Pettersson in 8 fewer games.

Hard to argue Pettersson over him at this point.

Zadorov for a 24 5th rounder and a 26 3rd rounder. That really is F%&k all for a player that the Canucks desperately needed.

Allvin is awesome.

This is terrible analysis by Riccio. Zadorov is going to help probably with general competence but his size isn't really going to do much for clogging the ice...for that we need the forwards to do their jobs and we need more hustle from F2/F3 to get into place in the neutral zone and then to back pressure on the zone entry.

Allvin needs to work his magic and flip Myers, use $4m for a top 6/9 forward and the rest maybe on Bear
