tocchet's system doesn't help but this team struggles to generate offense because they're small, slow and their defense can't move the puck. the roster construction is just bad. they have talented players and depth but they're all the same kind of player. they need guys who can pass and carry the puck with speed both on the backend and up front

I'm really starting.to dislike Tocchet.

I think he is dealing with the defense that he’s been given. I’m sure he would love to open up the offense more—but the poor play of certain defenders means they have to play more conservatively to try and stop the bleeding—let alone expect those poor defenders move the puck up the ice effectively.
