I'm not so sure about the first part...the Jets really dominated on their recent East Coast trip other than blowing the game in Philly. If they recapture their home-ice mojo they can be a pain in the neck.

I've been trying to tell everyone this but the cheerleading crew here can't put down their pom poms.

It's not a slump, its who they are, a non playoff squad that is heavily flawed and tough to root for to be honest.

They really do stink as a hockey club right now.

Calm down. We're in a slump & we're playing our backup who is having a terrible slump as well.

All will be fine, they'll get it together and go very, very deep.

We bottomed out against Washington, imo, and now it's just about how long we're gonna stay at the bottom until something is done to change it. Considering how stingy Lou is, this could last all season.

That's the $64,000 question. Are they good enough to do that, as constituted? We can talk about Zubrus and Carter being out, they aren't helping the scoring that much. The Bobby Butler experiment looks over after tonight. It's obvious more than ever outside help needs to come - hell it already came with Lokti and we still can't score outside of his goals created.

There is almost no way that Kovy, Zajac, Henrique, etc. continue to not score at this rate. It would be career lows, and significant drop-offs, for all of them at the same time

Clarkson has been utter trash for a couple weeks.

Look at our FW group. Maybe we can't do less with more. Especially when we haven't been able to establish a forecheck for the past 2 weeks.

Tallinder was good this game, PK was good, forecheck was better than it has been.

We need our centers to wake the hell up. Henrique missed on great chances AGAIN tonight. Breakaway and missed the net. If they can just get going we will be ok.

You said it, we were better tonight, brain fart and bad breaks. We miss Marty too, our break out is so much worse without him playing the puck.

Power play needs to get better though. We left to many goals on the ice.

Standings look bad but it's hard to get caught up in that since teams are so bunched up. Problem is the team can't score and needs to pick it up. They have a lot of games coming up and they can't drop them all otherwise we'll be lovin that 1st rounder of ours way too much.

lol what cheerleading crew here? The negativity's been off the charts the last two weeks. RG's latest avy is a play-on of the board lately. I'm not saying I haven't been part of it, but in many ways it's easier for me to be a bit contrarian. When the Devils are doing well I tend to get more perfectionist. If they're losing, so long as the effort is there I'm not that down on them. I do think the effort was there the last couple games for the most part, other than the sag on Sunday after the PK crapped the bed.

Clearly they need scoring help. We've only been saying this since July. Trade deadline's a month away, Lou may need to strike sooner rather than later cause we're heading toward the bubble zone pretty darn quick.
