Kings suck. But most importantly, Kopitar sucks. Again Kovalchuk is the only one creating anything.

Kovalchuk - Iafallo - Brown top line please. And only play them. They're the only ones trying.

One thing I will always miss from the past era is that the Kings just put fear into everyone. Remember how unglued they made even Alex Pietrangelo? I still remember one game Regehr absolutely mauled Kucherov...and Kucherov spent the rest of the game shying away from the puck.

Right now, the Flames' #5-6 d-men just casually skate between three Kings without even a thought that they might get plugged.

Maybe I'm just an old school fan now but I hate that the average player--at least, that we're playing against--can just run around untouched all night.

"youre not talented enough to win on talented alone." ****ing hit someone, you plugs.

That's the kind of team Lombardi tried to build, then kept trying to force it while the game was changing, and then everyone criticized Lombardi for doing that. With the Kings, with Team USA, with the Pens are the flavor of the month, etc. That's what he tried to do with the Lucic trade, and it was the downfall of the organization.

To be honest, I am not sure we will be a black hole team by the end of the season, we might actually be bottom 5. If that is the case, hoping to draft high and go from zero to hero next year with what little time we have left with our veterans may be the mother of all pipe dreams.

If I were Blake, I would start to consider the unenviable task of retooling/rebuilding. Though he probably has no real authority to do it (since AEG probably wouldn't give him the green light and may even fire him). Honestly, though it pains me to say it, I would likely unload some players that have value right now for some futures. One of Muzzin/Martinez and Dustin Brown to start.

If you trade Brown I think you would have officially broken the back of this leadership group too... Others may have to follow. Honestly, it may be time.

Even CBC is ragging on the Kings, saying they're not playing the way the game is supposed to be played. No tempo, no pace.
It is the rope a dope
Do nothing for the first two periods then in the third.... still do nothing but pull the goalie

I almost made this exact same post. I'm not sure if I'm saying full-blow up or whatever yet, but there HAS to be some player movement, even lateral moves. It's just stagnant and this group just doesn't work. Too many of the same guy on defense....anyone looking for a big vanilla LHD? We've got a monopoly on them. Same with north-south forwards that can get a shot off the wing and win some board battles.

Kind of have one foot in three different rooms right now, and I chalk that up to it being early--we'll see what Blake's vision is as the season goes on, but these early results will probably have great impact.
