Wow Bertuzzi is not the brightest bulb eh? Back to back egregious giveaways in OT.

Strome when Trev passed back, "Don't we want Connor though?"

The Wings have some talent but man do they cough it up. Some dumb shit defensemen on that team.
seems like something their Dmen would do even when they were the class of the league. Getz, Perry et al were great at getting them to do that. Kronwall was a victim often but they would even get Lidstrom to do it.

Seider and these guys will struggle against heavy forechecking teams

=== How the Ducks Can Win ===

1. Limit TSH to 2 or fewer.
2. Keep SOG within 2 - 4 per period.
3. Score 1 PP goal. Detroit has been in a giving mood recently.

1. Limit TSH to 2 or fewer. ❌
We were on the PK 4 times. Plus side is we went 3 for 4. That's a surprising improvement. Of course, some of the PK was killed off early because our PK unit was able to draw penalties while a man down.

2. Keep SOG within 2-4 per period. ✅
Period 1: Wings 13, Ducks 10... diff = -3
Period 2: Wings 10, Ducks 9... diff = -1
Period 3: Wings 5, Ducks 9... diff = +4
Period OT: Wings 5, Ducks 2... diff = -2
Total: Wings 33, Ducks 30

3. Score 1 PP goal. ✅
PP unit went 1 for 5. We flubbed a 5-on-3.

We won our 4th comeback on the young season! Sweetness.

Always bringing the Liljas and Lebdas of the league.

Their play is getting much better, it's kind of kind bad luck that they don't have a regulation win to show for it. That and horrible special teams

They have been playing well, but run into some bad luck. We lost two defensemen during the 2nd period in one game we dominated in 2 periods.

Whenever I do the "By the Box Preview", the ES play is even with opponents (we have a better offense, but worse defense), but the difference is the opponents have a better PP or PK unit. It's like COVID season all over again except we purposely don't have top-4 shutdown defensemen. Tonight, our special teams did show up! We really needed that 1 PP goal to help us get to OT and earn the win.

I kind of agree, but with a two man advantage in a one goal game in the third their execution was downright atrocious. The PP can't be relied on to be anything but inconsistent
Yeah, but they did score, they should have scored a second time if McTavish hits the open net, and the PK was great - you can’t predict a shot hitting someone in the face and dropping right to the guy at the side of the net.

Baby steps.
