Unpopular opinion, Hayward was mostly great tonight, and him and Faust did well together.

It seems like he made an effort to be a announcer/color guy instead of a homer, which nearly made him good at it lol, good broadcast team and a great game to broadcast, loved it when Alex said "if you didn't like tonite game you don't like hockey" .........not sure why ducks and angels announcers have always had to be homers ,been that way for years while the LA guys have been HOF bound doing it the right way

Dirty low hit on kopi should've been a major. glad hes ok and we won!

Watch the replay the duck looks to his right and sees a kings player and still stays low and undercuts him, if mac's play was premeditated so was this , lack of respect for players safety ? , looks like their goon squad in the ahl , takes every cheap shot they can .......how great is it we respond with both fighting spirit and exhibition of skill ".................glad I was one of those idiots who reupped my season seats

Yup! I was yelling at the tv about that. Fox mentions it all the time! That should've counted. The puck was in the net before his helmet hit the ice. Laich deserved that one. Glad the Kings still got the W. But it should've been in the regulation.

So many moments where we got shafted in this game, glad we came out on top. I hope the guys aren't too banged up, I was expecting a major injury to one of our top guys with the way things were going. Nice to see Kempe score again, hope the kid can keep it rolling. He looks impressive.

Thought so.

On the goalie mask. Yes it should have counted. However, ruling on the side of player safety I will always support. Quick loses his helmet a lot so it could save us some day.

Isn't there a rule saying if a goal goes in directly after a goaltenders helmet falls off the goal counts? Or am I going crazy.

Also damn does it feel good waking up this morning.
If it happens simultaneously they can allow it.
But it's at the referees discretion. And in this case he was on it. And waving it off.

I know Anaheim is in the bottom of the league in powerplays but the Kings killed off a double minor and a five minute major, they had their chances to take over the game.

Kempe has been great. He has size, speed and skill and now he's applying it with some hockey-sense. That is a dangerous combination and we're seeing the results and opponents are backing the hell off, which opens up the ice for his linemates. I'm happy the Kings won because it was a damn infuriating game to watch on a number of levels. I did enjoy the very audible "go Kings go" chant late in the game. Hell, the Ducks fans either didn't have the numbers to try and drown it out in boos or the will. Good stuff.

Anyways, anyone else get so confused about the Lindholm hype? He's a pretty good defenseman, but nothing special at all.

Not trying to start any drama, but he did just come back after having major surgery on his shoulder, and I don't think he's 100%, last season he was all over the ice with hits, and shots, this year not so much. Same with Vatanen.

what a treat this game was! I thought it was a 7:30pm start so by the time I tuned in, the Kings were already down 2 goals and MacDermid. cant say enough about the guts this team has shown so far this season. to come back twice after being down by 2 and still win it in OT after 2 disallowed goals is just insane. hopefully they can keep this up! it will be real interesting once Carts and Gabo come back

Kempe is a treat to watch. It's nice to see he's getting more comfortable out there and I'm not just talking about the on ice play, but the whole jumping in scrums and the stare down. :D
I really love how he has an mean edge to his game. Like you said, he's not afraid to get into scrums and talk some s***. He had one Duck in a headlock during the Quick/Perry scrum.

Makes him even more dynamic.

I get that, I'm just saying in general too. I just dont see it.

Was it just me, or was Quick not playing like Quick? He flung himself out of position on that first goal and at other times, too, where he was lucky enough to not get scored upon. And then, at the 3ish minute-mark of the 3rd period, he did some unnecessary dance on his knee pads after making the save. The dude had ants in his pants.....

Nope he can be like that. There are games where he over extends himself on nothing plays and it leads to a goal. What makes that worse is now for some reason when he gets emotional, he over extends even more.

So when players like perry try to annoy Quick, it works because he will start to play like ass.

The first goal Quick conceded last night is very similar to the goal the conceded to Selanne(?) in gm 1 of 2014 series. He over-committed to the play and put himself out of the position.

Quick is really bad when someone holds onto the puck and goes around the net. He always has extreme trouble when players hold it and go around the back

I know how depleted their roster is, but consider Anaheim played almost a quarter of the game with the man advantage, had two of our goals washed out by a matter of inches, their iffy goal stood after review, and we lost a defenceman early to a poor call. Pretty happy with winning without a shootout and nobody on the IR.

Mentioned this during the game but understandably people might've missed it cause they were watching the game but Quick needs to play the puck in OT when the Ducks iced it. Unless it's a situation like in Boston with less than 10 seconds left, Quick needs to play the puck. Muzzin was right there. Instead the Kings took the icing and lost the faceoff and the puck. Kings would have had clear possession if Quick had negated the icing.

Sounds more like the center needed to win the face off in the offensive zone.

I think the goal can count if it goes directly in off the mask. This one hit the mask, fell to the ice and then Laich poked it in. Maybe that's why it didn't count.

The offside challenge was precipitated by the above play. I've never seen anything that bad before or since. It was always trying to solve a problem that didn't really exist, and now it only causes issues even if the call is 'right.' Why have linesmen?
