So dumb.

You can never justify giving the best goalie in the world that kind of a contract. Goaltender contracts are usually so painful. You never give a Max term contract to any goalie. I hated Quicks contract then and it's still an awful contract.

it's the thing that sticks out the most to me, he's an absolutely hulking human being but he stuck with the rush several times today. he caught up with gallagher on a backcheck in the 1st and gallagher had the jump

All these new players and rookie getting called up is a bit confusing. Like I still can't tell the difference between Folin and Fattenburg on the ice, doesn't help they look similar too

Deserve doesn't mean it's what's best for the team. DL took a huge risk signing Quick to a 10 year contract was real risky. And theres still a big risk with quick cause of his injuries. No goalie deserves a contract longer than 5 years.
 
there's some overwhelming fear that quick isn't gonna be able to play out his contract, which imo it's pretty obvious he has at least 2 more years at a top level left, even if the last 2 are throwaways we got our money's worth out of him in a big way

you gotta remember that when his contract is up, EVERYONE else is gone too if they don't re-sign so there's gonna be some shuffling no matter what
