I know some NYR fans bash Sam and Joe but they are so much better than the ESPN announcing crew imo.
He’s on a line with Cuylle and Wennberg, what the hell do you expect? Let’s see what happens when / if Chytil is reinserted first.Don't wanna be negative on such a great team win tonight but where the hell is Kakko? He has one gimme goal on a horrible turnover by the Caps.
I know the competition is tough but at this point but he's gonna have to be a bit more dangerous in the o zone.
Twitter just demolishing McDonough and ESPN for that call this morning. The Kenny Albert and especially Harnarayan Singh calls of the Trocheck game-winning goal were just head and shoulders better.
Agreed - but that will happen when hell freezes over, unfortunately.Trouba is a major liability out there, I'd get Jones in.give him a few days off.
Honestly I doubt it reaches enough of a critical mass to have them make any changes this year. Which figures, we will win the Cup and I'll have to spend the next 30 years of my life listening to that bum on highlights.
But hopefully they realize how terrible he is and make a change in the offseason. He cannot keep being the face of ESPN hockey.

I can live with that scenario.
They adjusted for the length of attention span of the Z generationWhat the hell the NHL.com goal highlights are so short lol
Sam gets things wrong at a crazy high rate at this point in his career but he can still conjure up the juice to make really exciting and great calls.
McDonough also gets things wrong CONSTANTLY but then he calls plays like he’s getting a price check on lettuce in the grocery store.
You have to actually open the box score of the game. Then they give you the full highlight of each goal videoWhat the hell the NHL.com goal highlights are so short lol
I can live with that scenario.
And he at least cuts the hubris and says EXCUSE ME!Sam gets things wrong at a crazy high rate at this point in his career but he can still conjure up the juice to make really exciting and great calls.

I can live with it, but it's like a minus 20% in coolness.
No doubt he’d take both that series from LAK and ECF from TBL if he had this group in front of him.If Hank had this level of talent behind him, I've no doubt they would have won a cup with him at some point.
No you wouldn’t. Who needs the first guy over the boards on the pk and critical situations when you can have Zach mfin Jones in the lineup. And yes he was brutal yesterday.Trouba is a major liability out there, I'd get Jones in.give him a few days off.

Winning solves everything. It's not even a minus 1%.
Coolness is winning.
Trouba took 4 penalties yesterday? and was to blame for the giveaway that led to their last goal. the guy can't skate and takes dumb penalties. No you wouldn’t. Who needs the first guy over the boards on the pk and critical situations when you can have Zach mfin Jones in the lineup. And yes he was brutal yesterday.
ESPN and hockey twitter think it was a weak call. By the book it was a cross-check. Yes it happens plenty of times in the game, but this one happened to catch Trocheck while off-balance and led to a scoring chance the other way, so it needed to be called. No one is discussing the call if the Rangers do not score on the PP, and the conversation is totally different if the Canes score off the turnover.
It's not even a minus 1%.
