Except for the fact that Taylor Hall was a Sabre for about 7 months. We've had Giroux since....2006?

The relationship is vastly different.

Remind me, how long did Iginla play for the Flames when he insisted on only being traded to the Penguins?

Oh, definitely. But Giroux also brings the ability to win faceoffs, he's still quite strong defensively, and can help bolster any line he's on. Would make them that much harder to defend, and over the course of a playoff series that can really wear down the opposing team.
He also thinks the game out as well. He can direct guys where to be on faceoffs on the ice and is also a great communicator on the bench. All the little things he brings away from the scoresheet is valuable to a playoff team.
I am going to miss the guy but he deserves a chance to win.

Giroux might want to come to Florida but florida doesnt need him at all.

They need a dman or actual depth forwards who can play a 200 feet game.
They are already a powerhouse for scoring adding Giroux is useless.
G has been TOP15 two-way winger since ~2017, but ok.

So you’d think Flyers will listen Giroux and respect his opinion?

Definitely -

But it also means Giroux and his family think of Philly as their home. His kid knows no life other than Philly most of the year. Big difference moving from Buffalo after 7 months.

His opinion, if he gets moved, for FLA is important. But it's possible he'd rather just stay in Philly much more.

Panthers going all in on F when they have a bottom 5 D core and goaltending issues is a decision.

If he only wants to go to one team, I'm not interested in giving up another 1st plus a top prospect. We have no trouble scoring. This team is not going to win a cup trying to play NHL 22.

Bottom 5 d core? LOL

Defence is their weakness but thats still a group in the top half of the league

Numbers say otherwise. They are the softest team in front of their net in the league or were not long ago in terms of giving up chances there. What do I know, I only watched a team with a stacked forward core, suspect defense, and hot and cold goalie shit themselves when it mattered for years. I'm sure the Panthers will do fine outscoring teams in the playoffs.

Leafs fan? Florida has a lot more grit and desire to win than the Leafs do, I wouldn't worry if I were them

Meh. I've said for a few weeks now I'd rather see us address our D and go after Copp, Lehkonen esque players than go after G.

If we do land him then I'll most likely be quite excited, but I'd still rather see us solidify our bottom 6.
Off to a good start

Tbh One more guy, whether its Copp, Lehkonen, Hagel, Hertl, Giroux, etc.... One more move for a Top 9 forward and I think Joe hits a home run on the deadline this year.
