This is cringe. Go check the name of the poster you’re quoting and tell me if he’s being some staunch confederate or just a Panther fan who is happy after being sad for like… forever lol
Yes this comment is cringe worthy ......and it was meant to be, however, I despise being termed just a "Yank" rather than an "Flyers fan". He could have called Flyers fans stupid, ignorant, worst franchise in the history of sports; I would have laughed. Heck half of the Flyers are not from the Tri-State area and would not be termed "Yank".

Don't worry any trade Fletcher makes with Florida will be a total folly.

.....narrow minded, caustic, and mean spirited...of course I am......I am a Flyers fan what would you expect?

Remember we throw snowballs at Santa Claus.

I don't think were he plays in a lineup matters that much to him. He'd be an all situations player on either team. I think Florida wins out because of their proximity to Philly as opposed to Colorado (and they are also a good team).

I don’t know what his reasons are but you got to think playing next to Barkov is also a pretty fun thought.

Having lived in the Rockies and lived in Florida, I would choose Florida every single time - can’t blame the guy. Though it is spring/summer so weather doesn’t really matter. I have a hard time seeing Florida’s need here though, they already have the best forward group in the league. Avs on the other hand definitely need to shore up the bottom 6 (worst in the league) which would happen via G pushing someone like Nuke down to the 3rd line

Yeah absolutely, that's all part of Florida being a legit contender.

Only thing I would say is that Colorado is going to have an easier time getting through to the final than Florida is.

He is, Friedman mentioned on 32 Thoughts that he could be, I didn’t say it was definite.
No, it was much more an ‘I could see them moving Sanheim’. Never know with this team, but there have been much more noise about Provorov moving. They will likely have to trade one or the other given their cap space next year. Risto was a terrible terrible trade and sign.

Weird that he wouldn't pick the more sunny state of Colorado then, if it's about sun

Per this list
Florida is more about not snow than it is about more sun. any northern transplant will tell you it was the winters. its the summers that are brutal here. dealing with summer is a lower- and middle-class issue, not one for NHLers since transplants with $$$ won't spend summer in Florida

I agree there, hopefully they move on from Yandle and don’t bring him back. That’s addition by subtraction in and of itself. At this stage in his career anyway.

"What is typical Yank shit? It was you Florida ; the mighty Floridian Regiments who decided it did not want to follow up at "Pickett's Charge" and protect the right side/flank of Pickett's division. Marched out half the way and ran away. Garnett's Brigade had to fight off flanking Vermonters while you ran. Floridians.......talk talk talk........

it's even more cringe than it seems at first, since the original poster seems likely to be an Indian immigrant. not sure he's gonna feel too bad about Florida's performance in the civil war lmao

Florida should stay away from Giroux, the dude has never delivered in aside from that one lucky series against the Penguins in the early 2010's.

He is the anti-williams, he is a playoff choker. Don't need those kind of players in your locker room, you already have one in Joe Thornton.

Florida is going to be a lot of fans "second" team once their team's are out. Would be nice to see Jumbo Joe and Giroux get a cup.
No die-hard fan should have a “second team.” When your team is out it’s fine to root against a particular team but you can’t cheer for another team. It’s just not right.

Yikes. I'd take Denver over Florida any time. Far superior place to live unless you go to disney land and have boring beach vacations.

Giroux can look at Florida as a top tier team where’s also a spot next to Barkov available.

In Colorado he wouldn’t play above Rantanen

Giroux wouldn't have to play above Rantanen since they could play on the same line. The Avs had played around with separating the Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen line and a second line of Landeskog-Kadri-Nichushkin looked great. Giroux would be an upgrade from Burakovsky in terms of hockey IQ and two-way play, so he could supplant the spot Burakovsky had.

Avs could roll out a top-6 of:

Giroux-MacKinnon-Rantanen
Landeskog-Kadri-Nichushkin

I do know that Briere apparently was not fond of his time in Colorado, and he has been helping with scouting and likely will be involved in this trade. Wonder if he has talked to Giroux about how much he hated it in Colorado. As others have said though, this may be nothing in the long run and he may be traded somewhere other than Florida.

In this case you would be cheering for players more than the team.

That's the exact same thing Buffalo fans said.

I think Giroux and Hall are a different kind of player. Giroux has been a playoff warrior in his career and Hall hadn't played much in the playoffs at all. The demand for Giroux would be much higher.

So I think the Flyers will get significantly more than a 2nd even if there is just one team he wants to go to.

Only Burnt Store Marina in Florida with either a 40 foot Pacific Seacraft sailboat or 42 Grank Banks trawler and head over to the Cheeseburger In Paradise hamburger joint. Utah over Colorado for skiing unless uber rich. Las Vegas, NV, if you like scenery since you are so close to Arizona and Utah for the National Parks. Seattle or Vancouver if I was rich. Uber Uber Uber rich......NYC hands down. Finest restaurants, finest orchestra, finest opera, finest art world, finest theatre but again only if I was a billionaire. Could I be a NY Rangers fan.....ugh.......tough one......

He was better than PPG in his first five post-seasons and had that average get dragged down by the crap teams Flyers management has built over the last five years. The only reason the Flyers made the post-season some of those years is because Giroux almost single-handedly dragged them there. Even with those bad recent playoffs he still has 73 points in 85 playoff games. He might not be as prolific as he was a few years ago, but to call Giroux a playoff choker is inaccurate.
