Wasn't ASF the guy who reported an offer for Risto of 6x6.3M when the Flyers first offer was actually more like 4x4+M?
He also said Sam Morin had a significant injury that was disputed by everyone, including Morin himself. No sign that he's even stepping foot on the ice.

Believe him, or not, I don't care. He's not a full-time reporter, for reasons I imagine, but disputing it out of hand is not prudent.

There really is this pray before the altar toxic bullshit floating around these days. If Fletch had been successful anywhere else, I would fully expect him to pull a Kevin Lowe "how many rings do you have?" comment in his next presser.

Whoever mentioned Clarke as the driving force behind Fletcher not guaranteeing Giroux a deal is probably spot on. That ego is way too fragile to see Giroux threaten his records. f*** this organization, and f*** the BSB legacy.

The Broads Street Bullies are the worst thing to happen to this team. Two Cups before I was born isn't worth the exclusive negatives that followed from the circle jerk hero-worship of the last five decades. Handing the keys over to them in '84 has done nothing but harm.

At a certain point you truly start asking what you’re getting out of your fandom.

Man those teams in the late 80s were awesome man. Right in my teenage years , they were good , just ran into dynasty.

I have thought about this a lot. Had the Bullies crashed and burned we likely would not have to deal with a team too stuck in the past to make any progress.

In theory, yes.

ASF said Giroux wanted a guarantee that Fletcher would bring him back and if he did Giroux would consider other teams.

Ipso facto Giroux wanted to re-sign

And it's possible the reasoning was "well Giroux's friendship circle is gone and we wanna build with the Hayes friendship circle" which is the dumbest f***ing thing I've ever seen from sports management and I follow Football Team Communists. And what's insane is that their off-season strongly indicated that was exactly how they were conducting themselves. It was a running joke that always came true.

Who knows. Maybe we have more than two cups now, instead of a team that jammed its thinking in a combination of "relive the mid 70s" and "prop up Clarke's ego"

Who’s the Hayes circle tho ?

G Couts Laughton Hayes Atkinson seem tight as hell.

Just seeing their hugs in room you could tell it’s real.

My comments on the situation last offseason were not meant as jokes. It was always so f***ing obvious that it’s where this franchise was going.

It’s pathetic but at least we have good management.

Hayes, Yandle, and Atkinson. I won’t stretch it to include Brown but you theoretically could.

Boston College and Minnesota that’s what the Flyers do!

Signing after signing, we'd go "lol how does he know Hayes?" and it would take about fifteen seconds of Googling to find where they played together. f***ing gross.
