God, that's the dream, be good enough for one year to sign a massive guaranteed contract, but be bad enough that you get to just go home. Now he can make 5ish/year being a backup QB somewhere.

I watched his press conference last night and I was pretty touched. The guy was obviously crushed by how this all went down and kept it together with a ton of class.

He pretty much has to be heading to the Cowboys right? I know divisional rival and such but he will get an immediate chance to play with one of the best WR in the league which should at least put him on the map for a contract next year.

Only other place that I can see as a possible solution is maybe the Saints? But they’re pretty locked in with Carr even if they shouldn’t be.

Jones has made $108 mill. You’d need to be a top tier talent at basically every other position to get to that amount.

RB, TE, LB, S, IOL not likely to reach that. OT, WR, DE, CB, DT might.

If the Giants fans and the Giants front office have issues with sports networks calling them out for being classless about Daniel Jones, they have no one else to blame but themsleves

Drafting him was a mistake, giving him that contract extension was a mistake cause it was his contract year.

John Mara needs to shut the f*** up because that Daniel Jones pick has his hands all over him because Jones was hand picked since he knew the Manning’s.

I think I’d also look at any playoff team with a shaky backup. What is Detroit’s backup situation?

Have to evaluate players on ability. Not who they know. I’m not a big sanders fan at QB but if LV ends up drafting him do so because they believe in him as a nfl QB not cause he knows Brady.

Hendon Hooker. Drafted in the 3rd round in 2023 with the thought if it wasn't for his injury and his age, his talent level would have had him taken much higher.

Haven't exactly heard many reports about he's performing in practice and his time in preseason and mop up duty hasn't been too definitive one way or the other; he's looked "pretty good". I'd imagine they are happy with Hooker having been in the offense for 2 years and aren't looking to upgrade that spot

I can’t believe he got that contract.

I can’t believe it
Blows my mind
Always weird since the cost of the extra guaranteed money to sign Barkley was minimal vs the commitment to Jones.
Barkley, for a RB, say it's $14 or even $15 mill a year AAV. That's $30 mill guaranteed over 2 or somehow he gets to $45 mill over 3 years. Tagging Jones would have cost them $32 mill or something in 2023. So, that $8 mill alone should have covered any difference to Barkley.

He ends up with around $82 mill over 2 years.

I guess that would work if he really wanted a Super Bowl and that was his only goal. I have to imagine his primary goal is finding a contract next year and being a back up I don’t know if that would help him find a contract.
