Someone who signs him for the rest of the season would be subject to compensatory draft picks, so it would definitely be worth at least that, especially when some more quarterbacks get hurt.

I don’t imagine jones getting an 8 figure per year offer in the offseason. But QBs with experience can get something. Really depends on your QB situation and off season plans. If not planning on being active higher chance of getting the comp pick. At this point with injuries that 53ed spot on roster isn’t that big a deal to prevent you from adding QB3.

I'm not sure how much of a career Trey Lance has right now, he maybe on the way of Josh Rosen. Unless some team gives him a chance, he's on that pathway.

No, that's revisionist as hell and makes no sense. He was the best option they could have had for QB heading into that year, on a rookie deal and led them to a playoff win. And the '22 draft class sucked.

They weren't gonna just cut ties with him to start fresh and get worse and punt on the season before it began. That's pejorative slurred, quite honestly.
