Constantine's the kind of coach who will win you games but doesn't do much for player development or for the fans hoping for an entertaining game. Good coach on paper but eh...

Gianni's main weakness is he has to get more physical, especially along the boards. His strength is rushing the puck up ice and passing, he's not bad on the PP either.

Sounds like Mete with a shot. I'm pumped!!

I wasn't originally sure if this was the guy that Stive Morgan had pegged as the Wyatt Wylie of this years draft. Good to see that it was; I don't pay much attention to Everett since Scherbak and Hart left mainly due to Constantine being so ****ing boring.

I can actually make it to the end of games without falling asleep now since Williams took over (not even kidding btw)

I like the Odelein comparison. He gets into fights to defend his teammates, most times against bigger guys and often wins. He's a fight/month, strong character guy with enough offensive and defensive skills to play long minutes. Not an easy guy to play against... something the Habs need.

Also I just wanted to clarify that when I said he needs to get more physical, I mean in a game-type situation. Fairbrother can definitely fight and I've seen him stick up for his teammates many times. I'll upload some videos and highlights later if I can find them in my archives.

Could he be another Brook?

He won't be as good as Brook. Fairbrother I see being a solid Top 4/#3 guy. 30-ish points. 10G-20A. Basically a carbon copy of his stats in Everett this year.

Love the look of his shot from the few clips so far. It looks hard but nicely targeted, not just the giant clapper heading to some vicinity of the net that you see from Subban and Weber at times.

Fairbrother has legit offensive upside, he'll breakout in the upcoming seasons.

Just saw the one sequence from camp and I was very impressed. Nothing flashy but head up confident and poised with the puck. Probably our 5th best pick from the draft and probably the lowest who actually still has legit offensive upside.

A bigger Mete with a shot is pretty much getting into star territory.

It just feels like an overstatement to me.

Style-wise, not upside. Fairbrother is a #4 D, maybe a #3 at the NHL level

At least his point production is over 0.55, barely. There is some hope.

Everett is a shit team offensively too, so it's even more impressive. He generates a lot of his own points.

Mete is the better skater, but Fairbrother will actually put up points in the NHL.

since he's a late b-day, here's how his draft year stats compare to 2 other Hab late b-day defensemen picks from the dub.

Fairbrother - 64-10-26-36 +23 83 pims
Fleury - 70-11-27-38 -61 67 pims
Lernout - 72-8-14-22 +7 103 pims

So all were one and done, D+1 and then AHL. Between them clearly Lernout was the more physical but had the least amount of offense. Fleury was on the worst team in the CHL or there abouts. They were dead last in the WHL in points, in goals and goals against.

Fairbrother's team was 3rd OA in points but tied for 12th OA in goals for while being 1st OA in goals against with just 130 in 68 games.
