toss vegas a 2nd to take matt martin

Screw that. I doubt we could get a 2nd for any of the scrubs we will be exposing. My guess is they get a Marincin or Corrado from us. Nothing to lose sleep over but could maybe work out well for them in the long term.

They can take what they want from us IMO.

The best the Leafs would expose are guys like Marincin, Matt Martin, Rychel, Corrado. No real tough losses. Do your worst Vegas.

Oilers probably protect something along the lines of:
RNH, Draisaitl, Eberle, Lucic, Maroon, Pitlick, Slepyshev/Kassian/Letestu
Klefbom, Larsson, Sekera
Talbot

which leaves 2 of Slepyshev, Kassian, and Letestu unprotected, as well as Pouliot, Davidson, Brossoit, and others.

Vegas likely takes Davidson. I'd offer something to get them to take Fayne or Pouliot instead. They wouldn't want Fayne. But I'd offer a bit for them to take Pouliot. Also, Russell is a UFA and I'd make an agreement with him to sign him after the expansion draft so we don't have to protect him, and get him to commit to signing with Edmonton.

Exposed: Methot, Lazar

Vegas definitely takes Methot unless Ottawa convinces them to take Lazar. I'd certainly give them a pick or prospect (not one of the top 3 though) for them to take Lazar over Methot.

I hope Ottawa exposes Ryan.

the difference between an overpaid 3rd line winger and young top 4 dman is huge. if im vegas I probably dont consider doing this unless the oilers kick in a 1st

Brown (no ret.), 1st, kempe for a 7th 2017
Taking Howard for a 2nd and 3rd
Not taking Manson, and choosing Vermette for two 2nds
Taking Moulson for a 2nd
Not taking Davidson, and choosing Pouliot for a 1st

Vegas gets some veteran help, a boost towards the cap floor, two 1sts, four 2nds, and a 3rd

I think the NHL is going to put in some interesting rules blocking teams from trying to circumvent the expansion draft. They'll want Vegas to be the most competitive they can be from opening night.
A couple that I've heard of
1) No future consideration trades before the entry draft lottery
2) No players can be traded back to their original teams before the start of the 2017-18 season.

The Oilers will probably protect RNH, Draisaitl, Eberle, Lucic, Sekera, Larsson, Klefbom, Davidson* and Talbot(8+1) Davidson is a wildcard. If he has another setback and doesn't rebound this season they might expose him(if he plays 18 more games) and keep either Maroon or Pitlick

So Maroon, Pitlick, Pouliot, Kassian, Fayne, and Brossoit will be available

Pitlicks going to be a RFA...does that not make him unavailable for exposure? I think Davidson likely gets claimed, if not Maroon.

I look for Detroit to protect this group.

1 Zetterberg
2 Nielsen (NMC)
3 Nyquist
4 Tatar
5 Mantha
6 Athanasiou
7 Abdelkader

Leaving Helm, Sheahan and Glendening among the group of forwards available.

1 DeKeyser
2 Green
3 Sproul

Kronwall, Ericsson, Smith, Ouellet more then likely will be the D men exposed.
1 Mrazek

Howard and Coreau will be exposed.

That's more or less how i see it unfolding, But knowing Holland any thing can and will happen. Could see him making some moves. Maybe a Tatar or Mantha trade could be in the works next summer.

Oilers will have Davidson-Pouliot-Kassian-Brossoit-Maroon or Piltick exposed (players of any significance)

Id offer a 3rd round pick for them to take Pouliot. I dont think its too much to ask. Hes a rare forward whos proven somewhat in top 6 evailable to them. he's also a vet and his cap and will help them get to minimum. Although id offer that to ensure Davidson is safe

wowowowow lol

This would be a very dumb trade. Davidson was a solid D last year but for 35 games and hes another leftie. I really want him on my team but not a chance difference between him and Pouliot is a first. If he actually held this value league wide id ship him off right now for a 1st or good prospect

VEGAS: Selects Glendening on behalf of Chicago and moves him to the 'Hawks. He is signed for four more years at a $1.8 million cap-hit.

CHICAGO: Vegas must select Marcus Kruger, (signed for two more years at a $3.1 million cap-hit) and also receives d-man Erik Gustafsson who finished 12th in scoring on the Blackhawks last year but is currently no better than 9th on the blue-line depth-chart.

I'm a Brodin fan but at this point I'm ok if they take him and his salary.

Ummm...instead, Philly would like to offer you their 1st rounder for Brodin.....lottery protected of course.

Brodin Ghost
Provy Gudas
Morin Sanheim

....to start next year with Myers getting AHL experience.

Bieksa waives for expansion or bought out. If we don't find a deal trading away of our young defenseman for a good young forward then we protect

Getzlaf
Perry
Kesler
Rakell
Silfverberg
Cogliano
Wagner

Fowler
Vatanen
Lindholm

Gibson

Offer something like a 2nd and a 3rd round pick or maybe two 2nd round picks for them to take Vermette instead of Manson. Vermette could provide a veteran presence to Vegas for a short while and be traded at trade deadline for pick and or prospect.

Wagner? lol. Vatenan won't be around by this summer( unless when BM tries to resign Fowler , Fowler wants to much $$

Wild would still lose a player (likely a D) in the expansion draft so now they'd be two short of current. Would rather just lose one and be done with it.

Moulson/ennis and those picks would be hard not to pass up

This may be a hot take, but I'd rather have them take Bogosian (assuming his NMC has in fact been waived since his was traded here), and then go all in on Trouba or sign Shatenkirk as a plan B.

None of us Jets fans can come to an agreement on what should/will be done. With Trouba re-signed we'll have to go 4+4 unless we can convince Enstrom to waive(or trade him) and then pay Vegas a draft pick to not select him(they might not anyway, 1 year to UFA).

So we'll either be
Scheif | Wheeler | Little | Perreault/Lowry/Dano/Armia

Enstrom | Buff | Myers | Trouba

Hellebuyck

Leaving three of Perreault, Lowry, Dano, Armia exposed

Or

Scheif | Little | Wheeler | Perreault | Dano | Lowry | Armia

Buff | Trouba | Myers

Hellebuyck

With Enstrom possibly protected through a deal + Copp or maybe Matthias as the likely player picked up.

But we really have no idea what Chevy is going to do.

If we're keen on re-signing Toby i'd offer a 2nd or 3rd to them to pick a different player.
