Almost 40 now and it's hard to believe. Feels like yesterday I was playing minor hockey and going to high school. Also getting to the age where more and more people's parents that you know are passing away and makes you think about life.

How do you guys feel about getting older?

1. Bluechew .... its awesome

2. Edibles more, smoke less

3. Kids? I built a really solid fort yesterday and threw my 2 year old in there and it took him at least 10 mins to get out of there. You can accomplish a lot in 10 mins.

4. You'll enjoy walks, bird watching, cooking whole rotisserie chickens. Enjoy less things with melted cheese, avoid crowds and driving at night.

5. Yacht rock ... you'll love it a few years

6. Bananas .. you'll need those for your gout

7. Hims spray for hair loss ... it actually works, you keep what you have

Oh man, I'm nearing the big 4-0. And I never felt older. Then I was teaching and a university student goes... My mom is 44!

That hit me. Like, I could be these adults moms.

I remember watching reunion episodes of like Saved by the Bell having Zach go to his 20 year reunion and he looked so old. Well, I'm that person now! I don't feel like I look that way, but I'm pretty sure to a 20 year old, I do.

Also find my self having no idea what those cool kids are saying!

At the Age of 99, I consider myself the "Elder" of the forum. And I can tell u it only get`s worse every single year. Here are some Tip`s `n` Trick`s that have helped me over the year`s.
  • Buy a vehicle with Great gas mileage. In today`s economy u want to make every mile count. I recommend a Ford. Alway`s top off your Gas for better mileage.
  • Play the lottery very often. U can`t win if u don`t play. I have won multiple lottery jackpot`s over the year`s and it has been a Boon to my family.

Getting older pisses me off.

When I was in my teens and 20s, I played soccer all the time. I would run through sprained ankles, back spasms, muscle pulls and everything else. I had an accident at work once where I actually got taken out in an ambulance on a headboard and I was back on the field the following week. I could eat an extra large pizza and chase it with a 3-Liter of Pepsi and wake up the next morning lighter than I was the night before.

Now, I don't even have to eat food to put on weight -- I can just drive down the street where it's sold, and the molecules flying through the air will attach themselves to me. And if a pine cone falls out of a tree and hits the ground in my zip code, my asshole will fall out of my butt, down the leg of my jeans and hit the floor.

I dont mind aging at all except for the ones I love dying. That's going to be difficult, but I suppose Im lucky enough to be surrounded by people I will miss dearly when they pass.

Honestly, Ive enjoyed my 30s way more than my 20s. Im looking forward to raising my kids with the love of my life, then watching them become grown men (or maybe our 2nd will be a girl...we're trying right now). After that, it's traveling around the country and world with the one I love. Free time galore, and truly embracing the free spirit mindset with my soulmate.

The part that's going to be a tough adjustment is when I'm 80+ years old. I keep in good physical shape, and don't mind leaving behind my physical prime since I'll still be pretty damn active well beyond my 60s. The aches and pains slow me down at times (Ive had my share of injuries), but they never stop me from living.

Entering my 80s will be tough, but I plan to be that grandpa that can still move around relatively well. At that age, I look forward to observing the beautiful world around me and watching my family blossom into something even more special. I'll have slowed down physically by then, so having a keen eye for things I maybe overlooked while living the fast life will be key to keeping my mind sound. I assume I'll be doing a lot of bird watching and other things in nature.

Im a wild child at heart, and the will never change. I still party with the wifey or friends. I travel with my dad and/or the wifey. Ive seen so many different cities, and plan to see more. I've had beautiful moments that make the heart grow fonder. I've been in shady situations that make the mind grow wiser. Life is an adventure, and I'm treating it like one. The ups, downs, and all arounds. I embrace them all, and keep lugging along this journey of life.

One thing they'll say about me when I'm gone is I've lived a life that's full. And I know when my time comes, I'll be surrounded by those who love me dearly. That's the most beautiful thing of all.

This is coming from someone who works on an ICU, and sees a lot of heart breaking good byes. You see the difference of those who truly appreciate the beautiful life they've built over the decades compared to those who are dreading life's end.

Oh, and find you a good soulmate who will be by your side no matter what because when your time comes, they'll be the one taking care of you and never leaving your side. Ive witnessed it many times. It's heartbreaking, but beautiful at the same time.

Longest post Ive ever written. Damn.

You'll become conservative if you all ready haven't. lol
Nah. Not me. The conservatives I know are blue collard family members/friends from rural areas. What I've noticed is they want the country to be like their small town. Me, on the other hand, well, Im more like a Willie Nelson. I love seeing vibrant cultures scattered throughout the country. It's one of my favorite aspects of the US. I truly enjoy learning about people I've had trouble understanding. A free spirit that likes laughing and learning from various types of people.

Recently, I've met more trans and non binary people, and evern cross dressers due to a bar my dad* and I have gone to. Interesting culture for sure. Never knew there was a difference betwen cross dressers and trans people until I went there. Funny thing is, my dad and I will go there, then we'll travel to a rugged, blue collard bar where there a back the blue signs everywhere. People are people at the end of the day, and we all are seeking one thing over all- happiness.

So, for me, I enjoy seeing different type of people, and my mindset isn't filled with disdain toward them like some of my rural family has shown, unfortunately. Have a few brews around a bonfire, and their true thoughts come out, but mine do too, and I hope to sway some of them to have a more open mind. This mindset is pretty common from the various rural folks I've met (which is a lot), unfortunately.

*My dad is a blue collard, old school, whiskey drinking, conservative, army veteran, but he has an adventurous soul. He treats life like an adventure, and believes everyone has the right to express themselves how they want so long as theyre not hurting others. So, you can say- we've seen a lot of shit, haha.
