GDT: Germany vs Suomi @ 9am PT/ 12pm ET/ 6pm CEST

I wonder if the German coach stressed how important it was to stay out of the box especially against this Finnish team

Not in quality shots atleast. Wonder how they count them - I thought we had over 10 already on the PP:s?

Well, usually the underdog get them.

If you’re an underdog and have aspirations of winning - you have to stay out of the box. No if’s ands or buts.

Overall pretty poor period from Finland so far. Really passive and just trying to protect lead. I wouldn't trust young guys for doing that.

Finland isn't impressing me tbh. Usa canada are way better teams this year and Sweden/finland competeing for 3rd i think

Checking out the game in German. Good thing I speak German. :)

Go Germany!
Where did you learn that? I heard the grammar is tough.
Yea. If Jesper Wallstedt has god tier game, Swedes are taking bronze. Meriläinen ain't gonna win us games by himself.
Theres been a running debate on your board on whether merilainen or the defense is where fault can be found in the team, i'm inclined to believe it's the defense.

Our d is one of the better ones with puck possession. Maybe losing only to Canada and Usa. Questionable without it. We just need elite/strong goaltending to support our questionable defence and we are not getting it now.

My dad was a guest professor at the University of Heidelberg in the 1980s and is fluent, so I grew up around the German language. I studied it in school to further refine it. Unfortunately, it's out of practice so my vocabulary has fallen out of practice, but I can pick up on the hockey vocabulary by context watching the broadcast. Because I "had" it from a young age, it's a language I can just think in, if you know what I mean. This is unlike my knowledge of Mandarin, where I'm kind of rapidly translating back and forth between it and English to make sense of it.

Does that make sense?

I'm in total agreement, if that problem gets fixed watch out because they have got the offense that is right there with the U.S and Canada or at least very close, but they need to get that straightened out.
