As a competitor it's way more annoying if your opponents were to just skate in circles around you and not shoot the puck rather than them shooting it some and scoring it a bit more often. Its insulting. The canadian players clearly arent trying, they haven't been for a while. I think that's enough to be disrespectful.

And also as a German I have 0 problem with running up the score. I would rather lose 20-1 while my opponent gives everything than go out 8-0 knowing my opponent played at like 50%. It's a competition and imo the most respect someone can give you is when he is giving it everything he has. As long as you dont celebrate every goal like its the game 7 ot winner its fine

You don't need to be a sports fan to understand this is an embarrassment.

Canada had no reason to do this, they aren't getting any practice from non competitive hockey, and they're well past the point of having a good goal differential.

As an American I was sad to see how poorly Canada did in the 2019 Women’s World Cup. I thought they took another step and could actually make the quarter finals but it was not to be.
