The rule specifically says that the onus of not making head contact is on the hitter - the height of the player being hit is irrelevant. You’re overlooking that.

Right it's a penalty. The difference is was the hit malicious (and intent matters here) and I say it wasn't. I don't think it warrants anything further.

Good PK up to that point, but then left Germany’s 2nd best player wide open. Plus Byram had his blade angled EXACTLY how you’re not supposed to have it when trying to block a shot with your stick.

Has it been that long since the NHL has been playing? We all know that sometimes it would be a minor penalty and sometimes it would be 3 games.

Agreed, but that variability depends on if there’s a plausible argument of glancing off a shoulder or the chest. This one is exactly the textbook “do not do this”.

Yikes, the German goalie has not been good. Terrible on goal 2, and very weak on goals 1 and 3.

All things considered, Germany have been playing a decent game so far, but their goalie has been a seive. They should only have 0-1 goals against with solid goaltending.
